i was listening to CB#4 today and i dawned on me that the part where they sing

should i go to church on sunday

should i stay home and pray

should i try to make her happy

should i try to make her stay

sounds so similar to modernaire .. that part would have fit perfectly in the song

Yet there are ways to find out, without guessing.

Modernaire: Recorded May 1983 at his house on Kiowa Trail.
Computer Blue: Recorded August 8, 1983 at The Warehouse in St. Louis Park.

So no, not recorded the same day or even the same month. Barely the same season. Are they similar? Maybe, but there are probably a dozen other songs with similar rhythms in the verse or chorus. Hell even the hook on "Sex Shooter" is in "She's Always In My Hair."

That said, there's some serendipity in that since they were in the movie together.
