The Truth / One Nite Alone double album?

Has anyone ever listened to both if the terribly underlistened albums The Truth and One Nite Alone back to back as a double album - or even mixed the tracklists together?

I feel these two albums are very compatible - as long as listeners can deal with austere production for the entire listen.

Thoughts?

My impression is that One Nite Alone is overlooked by many fans, but The Truth gets a lot of attention and love here on the Org.

One Nite Alone is probably my least favorite, of all his studio albums. I can't quite put my finger on why, but my impressions of it are that it takes itself too seriously and was hard to get through somehow. The Truth is more inviting. I'm sure I will give it another chance eventually and I'll inevitably appreciate it more.

I think One Nite Alone is a very underrated album. It's far better than The Truth imo.

Once again, his ability to 'do it all' makes this one the two albums I go back to most since his passing...Yet, others can't get through it smile

To me, it's always nice to hear him stripped down and/or more organic.

Very different Princes making these two (very fine) albums.

I don't think I would mix them ... but don't let that stop you wink

the truth is ten times better.

i like a few songs on ONA (i love case of u, even tho IIRC he misses out a verse for some reason, and arborettum) but its not nearly as consistent.

ONA is cool for the idea of him just with piano, but i think id rather hear a proper live album from the final tour. im hoping that one day the estate make this happen.
