Prince - Official Podcast: The Story of Diamonds And Pearls - Episode 3 out now! (26 October) This one covers the story of Rosie Gaines, including some of her struggles after Prince, and where she's at now. Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

It was good to hear Rosie’s voice once more, and to hear she’s gotten over the worst of her health issues. Interesting to hear about her early career too… didn’t know a lot of that. It does come across that she feels unfulfilled overall though, I agree. However there’s a lot of love for her in the podcast and she clearly wanted to be out of the limelight in later life. And that’s fair enough. T

If you haven't already, I highly recommend the epsiodes released in support of the Purple Rain SDE. Not my favorite Prince era but there was some great stuff on there with The Revolution. Andrea does a fantastic job putting these together. Very well produced, imo... and yes, LOVED the flowers for Rosie!

All the talk on this episode of an unreleased album, it would be great if the Estate/Warner would consider it for a Record Store Day release, or something like that. I’m sure the fans would buy it, and Rosie might finally feel she got what she wanted 30 years ago!

Yeah it was touching hearing her talk, that moment got me too. I got the impression there was a lot of love between her and Prince. Her daughter comes off as a truly lovely person.

I distinctly remember reading that Prince had bought Rosie a home when she was "on the streets" but she refused to live in it. Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me.

Rosie is one of the greatest female artists that Prince ever worked with. Her vocals elevated these songs. She really deserved more success and recognition in her career.
