Yeah, and that was an interlude. Back on The Virgin Tour, she incorporated bridge of "Billie Jean" into "Like A Virgin." (She's always changed up LAV in some fashion every time she's used it on tour.)

I was hoping since this is a celebration of her career, she'd have dipped back to doing something like that. But it was just a video interlude and a poor "medley," at that.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Why you say starts at 3:05 when the link is only a 1:23? ... Just wondering

Anyway really cool for incoporating that in her show music thumbs up!

I've been watchign a lot of clips since the first show. THe stage seems kinda simple. Big screens, but the squarey catwalks feel stunted. But, there are some moving things, etc. I saw that "Erotica" paid homage to The Girlie Show boxers.

So weird and random that Bob The Drag Queen is just up in the show. Not against it.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Anyone who fails to recognize her as the incredible person and entertainer she is - is an embarrassment. I'm talking to you.

To whom, exactly? Who is so invested in her that they feel she is an embarrassment? One's energies would be better places in those things and people whom they love and admire.

There is an article with producer Stuart Price who did most of the sound design/arrangements, I was like this is cute maybe he won't spoil much but I had to stop when I was pleasantly surprised to read that Prince's solo from Act of Contrition is featured heavily during Like A Prayer:

.

Q I’m going to start with a granular question. In the Celebration Tour, “Like a Prayer” is melded with bits of Sam Smith & Kim Petras’ “Unholy” and her own “Act of Contrition,” which features electric guitar from Prince.

.

A Yes, correct.

.

Q The medley is inspired. Was everything from “Contrition” that appears in the tour from the album? There were some parts of the Prince solo where I was listening and thinking, “I don’t quite remember this bit.”

.

A Part of the joy of working on this tour specifically was how we were going to approach featuring original recordings. It’s a tour which is essentially biopic in style, documentary in style. When you see a great documentary you get archival footage, a real taste of stuff that happened at the time. Madonna’s archive of multi-track recordings covers a vast era: multi-track two-inch tapes all the way through DAWs today. When you work in a DAW today, you delete what you don’t use, and the file is gone. But the old tape multi-tracks, everything was recorded and what was muted was done at the time of the mix. So if you now listen to those recordings 25 years later and have the channels open, you hear all this stuff that was not present in the final recording but is available. I used everything I could of the guitar because it’s incredible. For a tour that is connecting memories of relationships, partnerships and musical experiences, using original stuff is so important. If you’re able to find stuff in that original recording that no one has ever heard, you’re actually getting to peek behind the curtain.

My favorite part of every madonna concert is when the specatacle slows down, she stops the over frenetic choreo, stands still, and actually sings. The secret weapon of the highest selling female singer is that she can actually sing. I'd so much rather hear her voice fill a room than watch "sexy" "provacative" "dancing" and "high art" "concepts." Maybe by her 60th anniversary I'll get my wish.

i love madonna, though im no mega fan, and i wish she hadnt had cosmetic surgery

the use of the LGC intro sounds a bit lazy tbh (all too easy to do with digital editing, but they could have done more with it, though im only going on the snippet i heard)

but im glad that they used the act of contrition guitar

she wont stop trying to compete with big pop tours until she cant move anymore.

only then will she focus purely on the music.

then you might get a madonna and piano tour or something like that.

i think her attitude to her back catalogue/hits is not that different to what princes was.

Nah, her singing is terrible.

Evita ruined her. She had a cool kinda cutesy raw unrefined style to her before that movie. Post-Evita everything is too stilted and self-consciously earnest. Her original voice might have been "worse" technically, but her current singing is very contrived.
