Those both looked like video to me. The sott film was 35mm.

Not at all for me, it's impossible to get 2K quality on a bluray like Glam Slam without starting from 16mm or 32mm. And I trust the director, who makes this clear in his interview with the funkatopia youtube channel...

Okay, thanks. Why hasn't the Estate released an official clip yet for those of us who can't or won't buy the set??

How I wish they would release this Blu Ray for those of us who can not afford to purchase the complete set!

The sort of show that makes your head melt with adoration. Captures so much about what makes Prince great.

I’ve never been the greatest fan of the Diamonds & Pearls era, but damn! Prince and Rosie are an incredible partnership. In fact, Rosie is astounding in a way that I’ve never thought on record. Her screams on Sacrafice of Victor! And then, just the Sacrafice of Victor! What an incendiary, chaotic performance of that song! The whole show is mind blowing but that performance especially. Oh, I wish The Steeles had been a Prince fixture for a time longer (and appeared on more studio material). For a moment, the NPG, Steeles and Prince, reminded me in a weird way of the travelling circus-style band of performers Bob Dylan toured with on his Rolling Thunder Revue tour- only Prince’s funked up version of that. It had the same sort of messy collaborative energy. A more natural comparison might be a classic Funkadelic performance, but its earthiness of it really reminded me of videos from that tour.

Also, who’d have thought (I certainly wouldn’t) that ending a show with a performance of Gett Off Housestyle would be a good idea? Really surprised how thrilled I was to see that.

I've seen Prince perform live so many times that I lost count, but none of them can touch this.

Damn........How and why on Earth would this just sit in he vault for 30 years?

The only time I got to see Prince was The Symbol tour in Los Angeles. I was underwhelmed because it was too much rap and dancing....

....so imagine my suprise that I think Live At Glam Slam is fantastic! Blew the roof of my expectations.

That show was great. I got a little misty-eyed with Nothing Compares to U... but I didn't cry. lol Rosie, who I liked on the albums, and even Tony M, whom I didn't so much, were great live.

A few years ago I did a little write up about the after party at Paisley Park the night of the Glam Slam show.

All those little and big experiences are out there in stories with fan and band info. For the paisley timeline it would be great if that info about mood, little jams, setups was available in a big timeline of events.

I'd love to see a timeline of all the Paisley events. Me personally, unless it was really something special, I just jotted down the date and maybe new songs if I knew the name of them.

The look Prince gives the camera after the first, “Come here, baby,” of Sexy MF, is worth the price of the whole thing.

What a unbelievable great (short) inside story. Wow!

Indeed we need moer stories like this.

...Imagine if there are recordings of Terence Trent D'Arby & Prince...

i liked this. its a great thing to have. but really they should have included a proper show from the actual tour. this is a more relaxed run through of what the tour was like.

still, random thoughts: thieves is really good here, i love this version. jughead is musically, so so funky, shame about the verses lol. same for sexy mf. in my head sexy mf should have been something to jam on in the shows, the song itself doesnt really add up to anything IMO. i wish they didnt try to funk up cream, it loses something.

its an interesting show to have - prince gives a lot of time to the npg.

i wonder what he whispered to that woman in the front row of the audience. she didnt seem to look that impressed lol.

A Peach & Black reunion on the Org. That's cool. lol

Thanks toejam for expressing what many of us felt while watching this show. I didn't call anybody, but I let my 5-year-old son watch part of the concert with me. It's that good. (And, no, he doesn't understand English, no worry. biggrin)

Hope the bluray is as hype worthy as people make out. Some are describing it as heavenly it's that good. Well I'll settle for it taking me as far as the first heaven, forget all the way to seventh. Ya see apparently there are eight mountain goats. Which means encountering one goat b4 you make it to the first heaven... dome in the sky, assuming there's one goat between each one. Alhamdulillah!

The world's problems like climate change can only be solved through strategic long-term thinking, not expediency. In other words all the govts. need sacking!

If you can add value to someone's life then why not. Especially if it colors their days...
