Ignore the official numbers, PP cleared their stock and the Gett Off Damn near 12", 51 hours 12" and MPLS CD single flooded the second hand market from 2000. The Gett Off one is most amusing. A supposed 'Grail' item, yet most collectors have a 'sealed' version. Did none to the DJ's at the radio stations even open a personal exclusive Prince record? . |

Took a listen to the Danna Near Ten Minute mix on a loop today. Excited to hear a remaster soon, but as it stands it is flippin awesome. Not quite a Crystal Ball level of ambition, but there is a lot going on that’s interesting to me. The basic drum loop gets a few moments where it shines in it’s own, without other instrumentation or the metallic snare on top. It’s classy. Eric’s flute part is also fantastic, with shades of Parade era peeping through. And I’d never noticed Neil today the layering of multiple flutes tracks, with some subtle effects and timing going on underneath.
Truly a great track, so I’m considering this RSD release quite seriously (perhaps they will accept my bullshit Versace tape in part exchange?) [Edited 10/27/23 12:16pm] |
