Re-release of the Come album

I really am enjoying my revisit of this album. What a corker! This has been missing from my vinyl collection for too long! It sounds absolutely wonderful to my ears. Such a classic loaded with great memories including seeing LETITGO performed in Sheffield on the Ultimate Live Experience tour. Brilliant πŸ‘ 😎✌️🎸

Feel free to share any of your stories relating to this album - keep it clean though πŸ˜‰

I went to Chicago to see the Act 1 tour and I was lucky enough to go to the aftershow at Cabaret Metro. He did Come and Papa. Before he started Papa, he said that the song was new and needed his purple notebook for the lyrics. Somebody brought it out and he did the song while looking at the lyrics in his book. So cool! Pheromone is one of my all time Prince favorites.

I was a fan of Come when it came out.

In recent years, I made a remix album called Come Again, with different versions, new ocean sounds (no poems). I used two version of the title track meshed together, I mixed the album and Versace version of "Loose", same with "Race," I believe.

It's practically the same run time (4 seconds difference.)

So I listen to both quite often. It's a very cool and moody album.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Love this album, a personal favorite of mine and in IMO his most cohesive release of the 90's. Besides Solo and Orgasm I love every song - I wish Lovesign and maybe Pope would've made the album. Definitely hurt by the Warner's dispute, as much as he tried to sabotage & write it off, you can tell he was still churning out good material!

This is the vinyl missing from my collection. I have the promo, but never the official release. I’m so happy to finally secure a copy!

Great story! I'd have loved to have witnessed that, Papa is a great song, if quite jarring. Thanks for sharing πŸ‘ 😊

Great Stuff, very creative! I recently attended a Prince disco where the DJ segued the tracks brilliantly and it can really elevate the mood. Fabulous 😎

Aye, I always remember this The Gold Experience, 1800 New Funk and NPG Exodus coming out in quick succession. It was a great time to be a Prince fan, even if he wasn't Prince at the time πŸ˜…πŸ€£πŸ€£πŸ˜‰

It's a fabulous addition! I still need the Love Symbol and Crystal Ball vinyl before I get the complete collection. Hopefully I'll get there soon πŸ™ 😌

.
I haven't heard either, but knowing that vinyl-mastering is always an inevitable bunch of compromises (due to the physical limitations of the format), it would be almost a miracle to make a single LP-version sound better than the same material spread out on 2 LPs. Having more room means being able to cut deeper bass and a higher dynamic range.
.
BTW, someone on a.m.p. just reported that the Estate f..ked up this new release too by cutting the very end (P saying 'cool') of Loose. They really should stick to producing bedsheets...

eek
I reaally don't how they can mess up releases that have already been released. The Come CD reissue was already embarassing enough when tehy could't even get the artwork right.

Yes, the comments on discogs say that it's only the U.S. pressing that has the incomplete version of "Loose".

Great, album and maxi-singles. The Space Universal Love Remix is the best thing to come from that album era.
(Insert something clever here)

The US pressing is by Sony - would be interesting to hear, how they’ve sourced the material for their releases, including artwork.
There may or may not be something coming!

If this is a Sony Legacy release, then it's just a vinyl pressing for the sake of a vinyl pressing. It's not a proper remaster as the NPG/WB stuff was.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Cannot believe Im still commenting on this album after all these years, however I have always loved it from its first release. I remember being donefounded by its negative reaction from the media on its first release. Its always been my guilty pleasure album for years. And then yers later it seemed to get more and more love.

come is a good album

even at this stage of his unhappiness with WB, prince still put together 'albums'

but i dont really think its all amazing, even if its all enjoyable

letitgo is prob the best written song on it.

but i like papa, solo, orgasm, dark quite a lot.

Still dont see the point of the new come pressing unless they do something special with it
For an estate obsessed with merch, why no come tissues? Or condoms? A missed opportunity if you ask me

I always wanted a keyboard with a "Come" button, like in The Beautiful Experience.

Can confirm that the US version doesn’t have the β€œcool” moment, which is a shame. The record on a whole does sound great, however.

That is so bizarre 😳 I mean it isn't a big deal really but for a guy who always appeared to be so meticulous in his work this seems like a bit of a rookie mistake.
Still, it's the music that counts and I'm sure a little bit of vocal drumming at the end makes no difference to the album! Enjoy πŸ˜‰

My vinyl arrived the other day and noticed the end of Loose "cool" being cut off...and yeah, was disappointed.

Still love it and happy this awesome album is on vinyl...but try some QC before production! It would be greatly beneficial. Us hardcores, who are the ones buying this, will notice immediately.
