People keep saying that they're expecting a re-do on "Purple Rain" for its 40th anniversary next year.

2027 - since Sign O The Times has already been done, how about a pre-1999 album, like For You

2028 - Lovesexy (my second-most-wanted SDE)

2029 - Batman

2030 - this could get tricky... 40th anniversary of Graffiti Bridge, but ***50th*** of Dirty Mind...

They had printed the vinyl LP of the remaster with the D&P ones.

There simply isn't ging to be as many Super Deluxe editions as we want AND it depends on the sales. If you cheap bastards don't buy D&P SDE it's going to dry up fast. The SOTT sales were not fantastic. There's still lots of unsold product.

But here's the thing. The term "Super Deluxe" doesn't mean it has to be six or mores discs. The standard seems to be 4 CDs and perhaps not even video. The previous Purple Rain re-issue xould easily have been called a Super Deluxe. We got 3 CDs and a DVD.

I'm with you! Dirty Mind is the SDE I want next the most, I doubt it will be anytime soon but I bet we will see it eventually. So many absolute bullshit artist have multilple SDE releases that there is no way I believe an artist as critically acclaimed as Prince won't see almost half of his albums get the treament. Hope I'm right.

I need a SDE of live shows.

Yeah,I don’t like the idea that only the “biggest selling” Prince albums should get the SDE treatment.Record sales tell only part of the story.Dirty Mind wasn’t a huge seller but that is an extremely important album in Prince’s catalog.It was a real game changer and deserves to be celebrated.

It's silly because they're using like 40 year old sales figures to guestimate sales figures in 2023.

Some of these albums are critically acclaimed and/or publically lauded. They got way more cashay now than a 1985 sales chart would illustrate. I would actually argue D&P is on the opposite end of the spectrum and only has a "legacy" among Prince fans who phased themselves out of paying attention to any of his material after D&P.

I predict we get 3-4 more SDE's then Prince SDE's go the way of Prince Originals volumes.

All full sets same level as SOTT/1999 SDE's, no slacker sets, FULL sde, no twofers, two live shows (1 CD+1BluRae)

They;ve been working on PR40 for a while now (years?)

I'm sure we'll get Purple Rain as the next Super Deluxe and then I'd love a Parade Super Deluxe Edition.It seems we've been waiting on that forever.

Also ,I'd love a release of the 1988 Underground/Rave Unto The Joy Fantastic album. Lotsa great songs on there.

PR is obvious, but hopefully they will do parade or ATWIAD even, seeing as that was the big follow up, and itd be a good time for ATWIAD to get a reappraisal, next to a big PR release.

Three discs in the can already if they just duplicate the same show on CD/Blu-Ray to the delight of famz everywhere.

All Spencer & Tracy need to do is fold down to mono and dither down to 8bit 24khz wma.

tbh, i wouldnt mind a low bit rate vault store, where you can pick up all the unreleased stuff in crappier quality, for a low price. it would be good for some napster nostalgia.

They should just steal the Beatles mono marketing propaganda and try and apply it to the Prince catalogue, never mind that mono went out in 1968.

But the joke is the stereo edition is in mono anyway.

dirty mind has to be on the list. i mean, critics would wet themselves at that one. i bet there might even be demos that we arent aware of for that album. but i wouldnt be surprised if DM is a few years off.
