Can't just sell to the super fams. That would be the Super Deluxe! Although the addition of a remastered version of the 1985 live concert on his birthday at the Masquerade Ball at the Prom Center would be a choice bonus addition, along with the remastered director's cut of the ATWIAD music videos.

you can have new songs on a deluxe , here is the definition , pay attention to the extra tracks part

The deluxe edition often includes some or all of the following: extra tracks; demo recordings of album tracks; live recordings of album tracks; alternate takes, mixes, or edits of album tracks; B-sides from album singles that did not appear on the album; DVD content, including music videos.

I'd pay to work for free in that vault and I'm sure there are plenty of worthy bonus tracks to make the deluxe strong, although I'm not a fan of hearing songs Prince may have deemed unworthy. But then again his selections could be frustrating. I think the SOTT Super Deluxe was overkill and probably scared off casual fans. Can't imagine he would've ever approved of some of those songs being released. Would have rather not had some of those weaker cuts and instead included the remastered Sign O' the Times concert film. Saw that in the theater in the fall of 87 and then owned it for years on VHS until my machine ate the tape. Luckily they did in fact remaster it and I saw it in a theater again as well. Still would have been a nice addition to the Super Deluxe, as many causual fans don't even know about that film, let alone Lovesexy 88. Another album deserving of a deluxe with that concert included from Dortmund. I saw the North American version at MSG in October of 88. First concert ever. Not just by Prince but ever. Still have the ticket stub and tour book! would need to include the entire Black Album as well, especially cause he plays songs from it during that tour.

Nice list!

The only niggle I would have is putting 2 versions of America beside each other. One of the things that I don't like about the SDEs is that they sequence the same songs together in different mixes. Great for DJs to include in their sets but dull if you're listening through the sequence of the album.

A minor niggle but hey, I had to say it 😎✌️🎸

The ATWIAD expanded was put together on here by someone else and they nailed it.

Around The World In A Day (earlier version)

Paisley Park

She's Always In My Hair

Hello

4 The Tears In Your Eyes

Raspberry Beret

Girl

Tambourine

America

Pop Life

The Ladder

Temptation (sped-up and edited)

This is the version I listen to all the time. It feels so organic and ephemeral to the era, and has a great natural flow.

If you wanna really expand it, swap out the 12" mixes where applicable. I opt for the Extended Version of "Pop Life" since it was Prince's original longer version, versus that Sheila E. mix.

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

I took you out of context to put it back into perspective biggrin

Why can't you just leave it the way it was?

Are you a musician?

NO!!!

you are a "quilter"

Keep quilting your quilts and hopefully noone will rip them to shreds and re-stitch them.

I am a musician. I've played music since I was six years old. I'm a man of exquisite talents and tastes.

And you know I am NOT on the E-Train, so anything that she's touched like that, I ain't here for it. Fuck her and her remix. haha

Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

As long as they're giving us the America video, why not include the complete 20-minute concert from which it was taken? I have never seen it and always wondered how the rest of the show was since America was so tight.

I agree...I would love to hear the rest of that show!! The energy from that video is off the charts. That was definitely a song that exploded live! The studio version is a bit flat in comparison.
