Slow love is peak prince in ballad mode
And bob George should have gotten verse of the month in the source at the time Like, if i made a gangsta rap mixtape of late 80s/early 90s stuff, bob george would work at the end pretty well 'I got a gun and its LOUD' That song is the black albums centrepiece [Edited 8/28/23 13:29pm]

3 other songs i dislike -
Musicology The music is nice enough in a kind of light and easy, tame neo funk lite starbucks background music playlist way, but the lyrics are pretty corny and lazy with the nostalgia. When he started listing off jsm master jay and chuck d... to this day i cant see prince listening to run dmc or public enemy much. Emancipation I dont hate it.... but i dont buy the sentiment or the whole triumphant jubilation feeling its meant to have behind it so i have no desire to listen to it. but it does work well as the album closer. Avalanche The only tracks i liked on the piano album were arborettum and case of u. This one, I liked the angry falsetto, but for me, a lot of his late period political songs, i find them too head-on. i prefer prince doing politics less explicitly, basically less explicitly than singing ABRAHAM LINCOLN WAS A RACIST. What works in rap lyrics doesnt work that well sung IMO. [Edited 8/29/23 1:20am]

I never understood the hate for Slow Love”.It reminds me of Sly & The Family Stone…a smooth, mesmerizing track.

"Slow Love" always gave me more of a throwback vibe than Sly. Like just a pure, classical R&B ballad, up there with the great OG crooners.

I don't hate "Slow Love". It's just kind of boring when I'm not in the mood. I don't skip it, though.

Nope. I was disappointed there wasn't a "(7 Minutes Mo' Croon)" full length version on SOTT SDE.

Like "Movie Star" or "Work That Fat", but with Prince pretending he knows how to be "street". Unreleased, it could be described as funny, I'm sure some would say hilarious. Once it's released and examined under the cold light of day without the cachet of it's former underground status it's just a novelty song that's not as humourous as it thinks it is. IMO obviously.

No opening disclosure this was a poll confirmed!
A B S E N T E E B A L L O T incoming: 1. "Free" - before hiring Michael Bland this track was the OG "Bland" of the Prince catalogue. 2. "Delirious" - annoying. 3. "Baby I'm a Star" - teh cringe. [Edited 9/9/23 17:57pm]

Doesn't "Work That Fat" use the same voice? Lyrically could be same character.
