Still dont see the point of the new come pressing unless they do something special with it For an estate obsessed with merch, why no come tissues? Or condoms? A missed opportunity if you ask me

I always wanted a keyboard with a "Come" button, like in The Beautiful Experience.

This is the kind of thing the prince store should sell

Or something like the crystal ball you see in the sott movie

Or a tape of the moans prince plays to appollonia in the purple rain movie

It's not just the "cool" part either. The last note is cut too. It's very jarring. (And here I was hoping they just didn't accidentally press the tracked version of Lovesexy 🤣) I don't know who to blame more, Sony or The Estate, but since the UK pressing doesn't have the issue.... Anyway, I ordered the UK pressing from JPC today, so I guess I'll have 2 copies of the album.

My UK pressing just arrived yesterday and I think it sounds excellent.

I played it back to back with the new edition of The Gold Experience and I think Come sounds better. I think WB's vinyl quality control is better than Sony's (having bought nearly every reissue for the last several years.)

Still can't help but hope for an eventual deluxe edition which explores the entire era. So many great alternate versions and tracks cut from these two albums.

Ooh, I like the idea of an era based SDE! That could be the way to go forward with lots of the material being released from the vault.
Personally, I hope they get around to re-release the love symbol album, crystal ball, the vault (old friends 4 sale) and new power soul on vinyl. Also Lotusflow3r and the two Hit n Runs would be fabulous 👌

I loving the UK pressing of Come.

In fact I don't think I've ever enjoyed this album as much.

I remember when that album came out.

My first "disappointment" (if you could call it that) is that Love Sign wasn't on it. I'd heard that song a month or so prior and loved it. I still think it would've fit nicely on Come - although it would have to be renamed Lovesign to keep with the one-word naming.

At first listen, I loved all the tracks except for the title track and Papa.

And, I prefer the NPG Operator segues to the water/poetry segues on Come.

I find the title track really cringe with the silly oral sex sounds. There rest of the album is perfectly fine.

The "techno" version of Come is far superior and should have been the album version. Maybe he felt the album was already too techno-leaning?

Hopefully a Come:SDE has that version on it.

They should also include Loose! (Munster Bass Remix) and Loose! (rock version) if they ever release a Come SDE. I actually like the album version of Come but it's a bit too long. The estate should release an EP with different versions of Come.

Hopefully i can set up a postal address in my coffin.

Fortunately I have it on that boot with Gold#1 and 2. I forget it's name.

I'm now beginning to understand how Prince didn't get time to listen to other artists much! He produced so much material he didn't have time to listen to anyone else 🤣😂🤣 so many mixes and remixes!

Not sure whether you mean the version in The Beautiful Experience or some other version, but I got admonished by someone elsewhere online for liking that version so much lol

For what it's worth, I do now love both those versions of it, just in different ways, I guess.

Joke of an album, can't understand how this gets so much love around here.

I’ve been informed that my opinion is worth less than those expressed by others here.

I think it’s a lazy,uninspired album with only a few good songs.

BTW, someone on a.m.p. just reported that the Estate f..ked up

I parsed "a.m.p." as "alt.music.prince" and wondered for a moment if we actually were in 1994. lol

has some good stuff.

as a whole album though, come itself is too long, and has a lot of silly lines.

space is pleasant, but a bit bland.

race is corny.

all that aside, it still has pheremone, loose!, papa, solo, dark, letitgo and orgasm. plus the skits are better than those on the symbol and gold albums. so its an okay album but could make a pretty great EP.

i think most of his 90s albums would be better shorter or as EPs though. except C&D - the reason that holds up way better than most people think is cos its so short so there wasnt much room for excess fat.

gold for example, would be a lot better if it was just endorphin (interactive is great, but interactive + endorphin might be too much), shhh, dolphin, 319, shy, billy jack, eye hate u, gold.

If he simply replaced Orgasm and ended the album with Strays of the World instead, from Glam Slam Ulysses and later Crystall Ball, it would've been more satisfying. Also if things weren't falling apart between him and his label at the time, he may have been kind enough to include The Most Beautiful Girl in the World on the album, like the label requested. That version was very similar to the mustang mix version on The Beautiful Experience EP, and in my opinion the superior version to the one on The Gold Experience, an otherwise much better album.

Disagree as in 1994 artists like PM Dawn and TLC were producing music like this and his was of course far superior musically, vocally and thematically. The original configuration included several stronger versions, including a shorter and more impactful version of Come and a more guitar driven version of Space.

The original configuration included several stronger versions, including a shorter and more impactful version of Come and a more guitar driven version of Space. Also every Prince album in the 1990s would be bangers if they just included 9 songs, like he used to in the 80s. The CD era ruined a lot for the concept of the album as a whole. That's why so many classic albums are considered masterpieces. Don't think they would be had they needed to include several more songs.

I didn't know what to make of it at first, and I was certainly less than excited about it... Or at least looking sideways at it, when it was new.

I figure at some point you either decide you're on board w Come, or you don't.

And if you don't, then you wish the moments you love were supported by a better album.

But if you decided you're on board, you wish the iffy, icky moments weren't sorta wrecking it.

I dig it, glad I read what y'all said about the US pressing... I sent it back when mine arrived and bought a UK pressing. Recommend.
