Prince: Hollywood Walk of Fame? Prince deserves a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame but imo the Estate is such a joke that I dont think it will ever happen. Graycap23 was ME! |

Of course it will never happen. Prince didn't want one in life, why would his estate push for it in death? It's funny that this discussion keeps popping up over all these years.

Don't remeber what it costs ($40.000?) but who needs a meaningless thing like that? The gold star at First Avenue is much more inpressive and relevant. |

A star on the Walk of Fame is a pay-to-play scenario. It's not an award. |

If you know that, then why did you say Prince "deserves" one? That makes no sense. They're not given out on merit; they're purchases like a goddamn Big Mac. It's like you're saying Prince deserves a Big Mac.

He probably didn't want his new material released in mono either, but here we are. |

It's a disgusting area. People walk on it, YOU HAVE TO PARTY FOR UTV YOURSELF and its no honor.
Little celebs and Trump have them. Major celebs don't want a dirty star in a rin-down part of towb, walked and peed on.
He knew the area. It's a shithole.
It would not help his legacy. Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me. |

You had me until the last part.
Again, they're mastering tracks in monoraul and have released a whopping two tracks total since taking over. Whatever they're doing with their money they're certainly not putting any of it toward The Vault, might as well buy a square so they can add a replica to official store's array of purple rain tchochkes and sell it for $99.99 and 9/10 of a cent. |

Well, the previous people at the Etsate managed to release messed up releasses to, so not many diference, I rather they spend the money on better releases than what Howe and all did. |

Exactly, B listers like Sheila but not A listers like Prince. |

That’s funny. What’s important to some is not to others. To each their own. |

Again, do we have any uhh receipts, source, citation, confirmation, any remotely tangible example that we can reference that the nu Estate is spending money on "better releases"?
Howe wasn't great, sure, but at least they put some shit out, cavernous wall of reverb and all. So far all the nu estate has spent money on is USB-in-the-shape-of-cassette replicas to put 128kbps mono mp3s on.
They can't even produce a mixdown in proper stereo mixes. Stereo: the standard format of mixing for the last, oh, over 55 years. They're putting legitimate releases in mono like it's 1968. These cheapasses refuse to even spend money on a legitimate mixing engineer. You literally got Londell checking out "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Recording & Mixing" from the local public library and trying to DIY it.
Maybe Spencer & Tracy spent money on a Twitter blue check mark. [Edited 8/2/23 19:13pm] |

Was watching a video on youtube the other day. The walk of fame is liitered with the homeless and other unfortunates. It's like a third world country. It's a disgrace. |

It costs at least $40K to get one and he declined several times over the years. Nobody truly famous should pay. On principal alone it's nonsense. |

You're putting to much control in the hands of Spicer/Londell. They are just a small part of the Estate and can't do anything without the others who have a stake in this so this mess up is not only on them but also on the family members and PRimary Wave.

Everyone pisses and moans about these sidewalk stars being "bought" by the artist or their management team.
I think they're iconic and fun, and who cares if they're bought?

It seems to have some sort of prestige. So many celebrities have one and it's a big ceremony getting one. Yeah it's superficial but what isn't. There really is no reason why he shouldn't have one unless he strictly forbade his loved ones from ever getting him one and I've never heard that. Time keeps on slipping into the future...
This moment is all there is... |
