Aoa wouldve been a good final album. Not quite his black star (no bad thing seeing as that was a bit too self conscious of itself) but a good way to go out... but prince being prince, he went out with four albums, mot just one lol

wink lol

Lucky 4 me.......I loved most of his work the 1st time around.

There are a few tracks that were so-so that I've comearound on like Baby Knows.

I listen 2 all of Prince's music from a different perspective now that he is gone.

The man really was telling his life story thru the music.

That is the perspective that I listen from these days and I appreciate the journey even more.

Purple up.

I've enjoyed revisiting 21st century Prince this week! Particularly the 3rd Eye girl stuff and Hit n Run phase 1. He was always reinventing his sound and constantly writing. My partner was winding me up a bit when he was singing about 'pasta simmering on the stove' but I said hey, that's just Prince being Prince. It must have been so hard to think of new things to write about after all of the years and songs. That's why he still inspires me. 😎✌️🎸

Yes, i have had returned to some stuff more than others....Rainbow Children and One Nite Alone are two that I've returned to a lot since his passing. I find, I am much more into his more organic stuff...where you can actually here him play. I think i understand more now how much of a genius musician he was than I did before....his playing is alway sso interesting.....always fresh. When he picks up a guitar, he always seems to do something diff... a little rhythm here, there...

It occurs to me now more than before, how much we took for granted that year after year he could put out high quality music. I too wasn't a fan of the Rave album...but there are some great songs there. The only album I can't get into is Phase 1...yet, it has June...and a less interesting version of a great song, 100 Hugs/Kisses.

He made it all look so easy...

On release I never played it much so had no opinion but lately I really enjoy it. I know she hasn't got a strong voice like a Rosie but it's a nice smooth album.

.

Some great clever under the radar sexual songwriting from him. Especially on Something U Already Know. The lyric 'your favourite song is Home' which is the previous track on the album is cool.

.

And to reference Kim Basinger 'the dirty blonde' in 9 1/2 Weeks was genius.

I understand why a lot of people don't like HNR Phase 1, but I think it's a pretty good album.

To my ears, X's Face, Hardrocklover and June are all classics.

The remix of This Could Be Us was probably unnecessary, but it has that great guitar solo.

Like A Mack and Fallinlove2nite are guilty pleasures. They're certainly cheesy, but they're also catchy as hell.

1000 Xs & Os isn't anythings special, but has a nice groove you can loose yourself in.

Mr. Nelson I consider a segue, not a proper song, so I have no real opinion on it.

The only songs I skip are the first three...

Million Dollar Show is kind of catchy, but it seems beneath Prince.

Shut This Down and Ain't About 2 Stop are almost the same song. Both loud, angry, yelling, industrial with poppin' basses. If he'd just put one of those songs one, I might have appreciated it simply as an experiment, but putting both on it back-to-back drove home the point that they aren't that good. With that said, if I had to pick one to listen to it would be Ain't About 2 Stop. The singing on it is more melodic and less shouty than Shut This Down.
