Telepathy

Underrated song, I think. Really bizarre and cool groove. It's so weirdly perfect in the same way Koo Koo is. It's menacing and cold. Love it so much. Wish we had the full P vox version.

Agreed. These kind of spare grooves are my favorite kind of Prince song.

Funny, when I read your post I first (incorrectly) thought of "Eternity," which to me has a similar vibe.

I mean the Deborah Allen version is the official version, produced/released/finished as Prince designed it to be, and even released as a full-fledged single with a music video to boot.

Kind of lame to constantly undermine his finished versions as inherently inferior to his bootleg unfinished guide vocal temp tracks. It's all about that "pristine" quality on the org isn't it--until it comes to a protege track--then the famz will take any warped, dubbed, gas station grimy tile quality with the tape cut in half and converted to 12kbps mono just for a taste-a those sweet sweet Prince vox.

Anyway her version provides us with one of the few legitimate "pristine" quality Prince instrumentals out there released officially, though maybe that's uninteresting/irrelevant too since ofc he's not singing on it either. Ah well.

The instrumental version sounds like a Madhouse track, would fit on the 16 album

I remember an article in The National Equire. This was the late 80s. Now forgive me because I bearly remember anything about it. But it was something about "Weird Prince sends telepathic directions to his limo driver. But driver couldn't read his mind" lol

Also an Enquirer story….

Prince takes Sheena Easton out on date and refuses to talk. Choosing to communicate via telepathy instead. Sheena Easton insists it was frustrating from start to finish.

Thanks for the, how you say it, Prince-true-mentals!

It's a hard to find musical piece, ala "Whistlin' Kenny" or "Six And 1/2"
