"NEW POWER SOUL" I was watching the performance PRINCE gave when he was on the VIBE Show hosted by SINBAD 2 promote "New Power Soul".
MAN! PRINCE was on FIRE that night and brought down the HOUSE! Not 2 mention that Mayte was looking so beautiful... I LOVE that album! Well produced and well performed! "PUSH IT UP!" __________________________________________________

I don't rate The One as unadulterated genius but Wasted Kisses hits home and Until U're In My arms Again does something for me. | |

that was great performance, but I accidently erased my hifi stereo SVHS tape from its original airing!

New Power Soul probably wouldn't sound like a hot pile of dog shit to me if he had utilized his band instead of all of that dated Kirk Johnson programming. I mean, he was free at the time, personally I think he should have released NPS under the Prince moniker and let the band dictate the sound of the LP. Once again, the Kirky J influence ruined what could have been a damn good album. From the Vibe performance, I was expecting a transition of that plastic sound to a kick ass band ensemble like the Live Studio Remix of Somebody's Somebody. | |
