Report on music given to attendees at Celebration 2023 All A Share Together Now and 7 E flat version have been given out to celebration attendees.
They were shared on a USB key looking like a cassette. I expect this to get shared sometime today. Labelled as vault series vol 1. Something BIG Is Coming. |

Hopefully these will be put up for download to all soon.
Wouldn't it be cool if they did put up a digital service and it opened with songs played at the Celebration. An online service is the best way forward to allow us tp obtain as much material as we can before we all die. [Edited 6/11/23 0:51am] Something BIG Is Coming. |

Hmmm these 2 songs were listed among the songs previewed at the Celebration. Judging by the fact that this cassette is labeled “vault series vol 1” then it could mean that they intend to release all of those unreleased songs presented to the attendees! "All A Share Together Now" is typical later-era Prince where he thinks a simple loop with him shouting some things on top of it and some muso BS constitutes a song. . "7 (E Flat Version)" is him taking a distinctive pop song and making it into an unremarkable R&B slug. |

Is this what the USB sticks sound like? Or has the sound been degraded? All A Share sounds fine but 7 sounds like it was sourced from the Livin’ 2 Die boot. If is what it sounds like on streaming, I’m going to throw my phone in Lake Minnetonka. That said, this version of 7 is funky as hell. I love the 90s R&B vibe. Take out the finger symbols and it almost sounds like a couple of the things he released a few years later. All A Share is a grower, and gets better with repeated listens. Almost could have fit on Welcome 2 America. I don’t really like the idea of a vault series of hodgepodge configurations from different eras. But if that’s the only way to get to hear more vault recordings, then I’ll be here waiting. |

All A Share Together Now has grown on me but is nothing special. The version of 7 is OK but the sound is so poor it ruins it. Out all the songs played they probably gave away the two least interesting. Something BIG Is Coming. |

. Others are saying those are the converted tracks and not the files that are on the USB, but I've yet to see anyone specify what format those are in. As per usual Prince fans are needlessly secretive... |

Found the files to listen to. What they're calling "All A Share Together Now" is to me by far the most interesting, even if it's essentially a Rainbow Children outtake (and not a terribly exciting one). It's still new, and I appreciate that. It's the snippet they played with the Celebration announcement way back when. Some people on here were trying to claim that it sounded like D&P era but I'm glad to know that my ears haven't failed me. Definitely has a bit of a "The Work Pt. 1" vibe to it. While I can see why people hear him singing "All-a share together now" at the end, unless he forgot how to speak his native language, I'm pretty sure he's just saying "all share together now" with a little "lift" or whatever you want to call it after the "all." It irks me that they're releasing this with a title that literally makes no sense. "7" is... fine? Like this what I expect to be on a SDE set, but as a standalone release it's very underwhelming to me. It's just 7 with the "2 Whom it May Concern" beat (but none of the insanely fun swagger from that song), and some different vocals, but it's not something I really feel the need to listen to again. If it was in a playlist I probably wouldn't turn it off...? Although honestly I probably would. I wish I was more excited. I definitely still want to hear (and pay for) literally any and everything that he's got in the vault, studio and live. But if their strategy is gonna be this slow drip, I'm very close to losing interest in Prince altogether, for the first time in 41 years. That makes me sad, but there's lots of other great music out there. And maybe it's just a temporary dip. No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

This year both D&P and Parade SDE should be released imo. U are now an official member of the New Power Generation
