Nothing Compares 2 U David Bowie Cover What with Paul McCartney saying that he's going to use AI tools to create a final Beatles song. I wondered what AI Prince stuff was out there. (There's two songs that I could find and they're both fucking appalling). Anyway this showed up...
https://youtu.be/AoMlck2sB9A Sorry if it's been posted before, I did a search and couldn't find anything on the org. I'm not a big Bowie fan but thought someone might enjoy it. Edit - it's AI generated, could a mod edit the title of the post for clarity? [Edited 6/20/23 14:08pm]

Not too bad
The owner of the video claims it's a demo from 1992 in the comments section I guess he is joking? [Edited 6/20/23 15:04pm]

I can see a near future where people will go to Spotify or the like. Select a playlist or song, then select the artist you want to sing those songs. Given the abundance of Prince material (training data for this kind of voice cloning) I'm surprised there isn't more AI Prince attempts. A couple of YouTubers have attempted to insert him into MJ's "Bad", but they sound abysmal.

Yeah, I think he'd hate it. But it's here, or very soon will be. The singer Grimes (I'm not familiar with her work) has already given the OK for "AI Artists" to use her voice so long as she gets 50% of the royalties.

Funny. Not bad at all. Soul-less

I think I'd prefer to listen to a real person's bad cover version than some AI-kind-of-thing any ole'day. > The thread title caught my attention, but I wouldn't listen to that for any reasonable appreciation other than a novel trial of the "digital intelligence" approximation style. In artistic consideration, I will always assign these kinds of things a goose-egg.

I can Dig it. Cool shit. Better let David Bowie sing Sign O The Times! Or 3121 "The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves. And wiser people so full of doubts" (Bertrand Russell 1872-1972)

For those who don't like it, i'm sure Prince would've played with the idea of AI. he was always into new shit. And the same even goes much more for David Bowie. Haters are old. Like me, only i don't hate. "The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves. And wiser people so full of doubts" (Bertrand Russell 1872-1972)

More like if Bowie lived to be 100, and spent his last years recovering from a stroke in Waco.

Exactly, and if had, he would have had the courtesy of singing 7 hours and 13 days instead of 15 days.

I never in a million years thought anything could make me hate my two favorite artists... I was wrong. This sounds like dog shit taped to the roof of someones mouth as they were forced at gun point to sing this song. The Terminator movies have provided a more well meaning Artificial Intelligence than this ear destroying crap.
