Prince & the New Power Generation's April 12, 1993 Aftershow Concert at the DNA Lounge, San Francisco, CA Just so that everyone knows BGP DID NOT know that this was being recorded! This was a complete bootleg, done by the owner of the PA system at the DNA club! How do I know? Cause I mixed it! It was recorded over a pre recorded cassette, hence all the weird drop outs and strange crappy sounds. Tape was put over a cassette. I did not have enough channels to mix all the horns, they were badly sub mixed down an aux by my monitor guy, thats why they sound so thin. It was an amazing show and I mixed the shit outa it. I brought my own desk and some efx and comps and came in from Marin to do it. BGP set it up thats all they did. Wade is not my real name.
I also met Micheal B years later in NY and he said that it was a AWESOME mix!

Some background, DNA is owned by a guy that made money in tech early and bailed. Now he gripes about nightlife, and anyhoo he used to stream a lot of their shows on realaudio before that was common, but when a few club owners were taping all of their shows in house without artist permission. He has a lot of political views about content, and everything else. The websites blog is fairly interesting or it was. He can't book national acts anymore. None of this has anything to do with the show, but as far as clubs go, that was one of the best for a time there.
