So there haven't been reports of any other unreleased songs beyond the first night?

.

No, but there was a "fan" panel where the likes of Funkenberry and Casey etc. could inflate their egos and blag about being onstage at Paisley Park.

lol, fan panel? Like a Q&A where lesser fans ask the expert fans what true fan consensus is?

I dunno. Very little reporting of it. Which I presume is because it was utterly uninteresting.

.

I mean, I tried watching one of those "this week in Prince" videos De Angela Duff does where she and another doofus pick over what happened during one week based on Duane Tudahl's firs book and I gave up after fifteen minutes or so because it is such pointless garbage that seemingly never ends. Minute after minute of them greeting dingus from fuckville in the comments, waving about records that have sold by the hundred thousands as if they're rare artifacts, and offering nothing but superficial observations. And she is supposed to be on the intellectual side of Prince fandom. Yet she wastes two hours or so each week on this garbage.

LOL, Casey is of course kissing the organisers' asses and complementing on their excellent organisation, meanwhile other people are bitching about it being an overpriced unsatisfying mess.

From most people I hear it's a step down from the previous celebrations and that it is just plain 'ghetto' in execution. Some are saying that Prince deserves more than having some nobodies like funkenberry and some youtuber from England, who apparently doesn't know much about Prince, on the stage instead of people that have contributed at least something relevant to his career, legacy or fandom. lol ouch. (this was acopy/pastee from someone who was there and was asking attenders about what they think of it and posted the report on a Discord)

I found it odd that the merch store had these cheap(!) copies of The War on cassette and the ONA Live box set and the Live In Hawaii box set, but I wouldn't be surprised if they put those out so the peopel who spent absurd amounts on this crapfest could find a way to earn back some of their money by selling this online for a ton of bucks.

.

Honestly, if I had paid $1500 I wanted to hear a dozen new songs every day plus see more unreleased concert footage, instead of sitting through pointless panels and concerts of nobodies ("but Prince supported up and coming artists!"). I've seen several pictures of looooong lines of people waiting to get in which is ridiculous when you consider there weren't that many people there.

OK, they could see the whole Yokohama '86.

.

Nope, 45 minutes. Not even the smashing of the guitars.

What?!

They must be joking!

This concert is so iconic.

I thought he only smashed one guitar, right?

I've seen it on a very blurry video once.

I actually don't see why they played this '86 concert (entirely),

it doesn't even fit into the D&P SDE (rumour) release...

Maybe they playd it to symbolicaly end the focus on 'The Revolution' celebrations and focus on his more 'black' output from now on. That what some attender at the Celebration guessed on Discord.

Educate yourself - https://princevault.com/i...rk_Studios

Still no (recent) photo though.

The Studio C rehearsal space became the giant Purple Rain room with the mural on the walls and the motorcycle in the center. Used to look like a dance studio before.

The Studio C "control room" is very small, like the size of a bedroom, with a window that looks into that rehearsal room, although the window was covered up when I toured there.

I'm hearing so much disapointment from people who were there especially the Tina Turner tribute and having Funkenberry and that Velvet whatevcer creep there doing nothing of interest to anyone, I guess the interesting with actaul things to say were to expensive to book so they settled on the cheapest and most useless option. That is nice and all but shouldn't this weekend be about Prince, especially when people paid alot of money??
That they only showcased 11 unreleased songs on 1 day is also really cheap like there excuses of "getting the music the good sound before airing them" or showing 40 minutes of a epic and legendary show in Prince's history only for it to be projected on some plastic screen that half the audience couln't see a thing from because of the reflection.
It seems that some non-VIP attenders got way more for there money from someone else doing the noble work than they did from the Estate tho, good for them, and they even got a little something extra to recoup there expenses.

I wonder if the 45 mins was deliberate as the Parade SDE is imminent. A sneak peek in others words.

You're talking about people who projected a video on a crinkled, reflective screen, which meant that plenty of people in the audience barely saw anything.

.

Stop looking for "signs". Last year they got a D&P 7". Did we get a D&P SDE?Remember how a couple of years ago they released a demo on a limited edition 7" and you lot immediately predicted it signalled the arrival of an SDE and nothing happened?

.

Yesterday I saw someone react to Warners reissuing some albums on vinyl "ah, must be a sign there's a new Duane Tudahl book on the way" which is such a stupid thought I cannot imagine how dumb someone must be to have it and then post it in public.

2 years is a long time wait… Let’s review this in October. ;)

But, Parade SDE, no idea… feeling doubtful. The Estate needs to get it together.
