I undertand. Normally, I might not want to announce something four months before its release. But the circumstances in this specific case may justify it. We've had this incredible draught that's causing fandom to revolt. Also, the photos have already been leaked. This isn't a standard situation.

some were... i think all the 2000s titles were obviously not there before yesterday.

Every SDE was announced three to four months in advance.

1999 Super Deluxe was announced mid-September, released at the end of November

PR Deluxe was teased in mid-February, announced at the end of April, and released in late June.

SOTT SDE: Config leaked at the end of May. QL leaked (part of) the tracklist in early June when he did 4 days of Prince streams around Prince's birthday. Announced at the end of June. Released end of September.

Consideirng that Spicer was whining at the Celebration about the butthurt he had because fans were upset the Estate had been so incompetent and had not released anything, and that he was whining how it all isn't so simple, and that 2023 was gonna be a "big year" (ignoring that already 5+ months have passed in this "big year"), and that he posts butthurt tweets in the past couple of days, and that there is obviously not going to be an announcement during the Celebration despite him having promised that, and that we know the SDE has been delayed to October,... Yeah, I'm gonne guess there will be several months between announcement and release. At least 2, probably 3.

Exactly this. Was talking to my brother and asking if he regretted not buying tix in light of all the unreleased songs played. He couldn’t make sense of how it fits together - both amongst the songs played or any sort of broader context. We surmised the estate panicked at not being able to put anything else together for this Celebration and just vomited out a bunch of unreleased songs they thought were good. A sloppy but easy strategy that fits for this crew.

Let's face it. The Celebration has gone from 3 headlines to 2, and those headlines are now background singers and cover acts. They need to pad it out with something and old videos seems to be the cost effective solution, particularly as they couldn't sell out a small hall.
