Documentary exploring how Prince - showman, artist, enigma - revolutionised the perception of black music in the 1980s by embarking on an amazing journey of musical self-discovery.
PRINCE AND THE REVOLUTION LIVE The Syracuse Carrier Dome show from Prince's 1985 Purple Rain tour. This Grammy-nominated concert film has been entirely remixed, remastered and visually enhanced.

The other episodes are other artist and not Prince ..it was part of the Black music icons of the 80's on the BBC | |

The Purple Reign documentary was quite cool. It's been updated. Watching it occurred to me that there is a lot of behind the scenes footage that's never been released? Rehearsals and "Making of" style footage. It's been years since I've watched Purple Rain. Really enjoyed it. WTF is up with the music over the end credits though? It sounds like someone hit play then realised they had the wrong track and just skipped forward. |

The documentary is pretty standard stuff, but I've always found it so touching at the end when they play 'For You' over later footage of Prince. It is so profound seeing and hearing how far he journeyed, and yet stayed true to a musical core. Always makes me emotional. PIPS! Eurgh... | |

As I'm not from the UK, I can't watch it. Nevertheless, I found on YT, thé same program (name, length...) aired 7 years ago (?!?!). Is it the same documentary? "Money won't buy U happiness but it'll pay 4 the search." |
