Did Prince sell merchandise at his shows?

Of course, a lot of artists sell merchandise that can be bought at the venues that concert goers can buy before the show.

But for reason, it never occurred to me that Prince wanted to market himself like that. To those who have attended a Prince concert... was there merchandise such as tour books, clothes, etc?

Yes. I didn't always buy things but there were T-shirts, programmes, mugs, posters, tambourines etc. All the T-shirts I bought at Prince gigs have fallen to bits over the years, but I still have the programmes I bought at a few tours (Nude, Act 2, Ultimate Live Experience, and 3rdEyeGirl) and a mug from the 3rdEyeGirl tour.

Nothing

Someone just ask a fair question.

And you can choose to answer politely, or just don't answer.

What's wrong with this place.

No it's not a question.

He sold everything any other major artist would. And sometimes exclusive CDs (like Supercute and Peace in 2001). And perfume!

Some things require just a little bit of common sense, or even at the most, a google search...theres nothing "bitter" at all about expressing that in a public online comment reply box...some people have super thin skin

Who has thin skin? The people who are annoyed by a simple question? Or the people who are ridiculed for asking a simple question?

"Ridiculed"?...the fact that you think someone in this thread was "ridiculed" for asking a simple question, proves that you specifically, have super thin skin.

This is the dumbest, more desperate post you've made yet. What's next? "Did Prince use later lights at his shows? I read that a lot of artists didn't like it...." Blah blah blah. Your comment doesn't even make sense. "Market himself like that." Like what? What does a souvenir have to do with literally anything?

It never occured to you because you don't think before you post. You're desperate to start conversations about nothing for the sake of attention.

Here’s a better question.
What’s the best bit of concert merch you’ve purchased?

I’ll start… 2 from the Nude Tour
1. Leather necklace with original male/female symbol pendant.
2. Wide neck, long sleeve T-shirt in black with shiny gold symbol on back (sort of replica of his stage outfit).
Never seen it for sale again, or known anyone else to own one! (I’ve also never worn it!!)

And 3. “Welcome to the Dawn” - Bagleys Warehouse T-Shirt. Only sold on the night, as far as I know.

Despite the usual suspects, this is a legitimate question.

The last Prince show I saw was at the Sydney Opera House just before his death. There was neglible merchandise, just a small range of T shirts and alike. At the end of the show and not before you could get Hn'R Phase 2 but these were in limited supply - so one per person.

Let me remind you, one reply said the following:

That is, by definition, ridicule. The fact you don't think it's ridicule proves something about you.

The fact that youre still crying about socalled "ridicule" in the comment box of an online forum full of strangers, proves something about the extremely thin skin that covers your body.

Come on, let's keep it cool.
The OP obviously never went to Prince concert to ask this, no harm. A simple 'yes' was probably enough for them to trigger them to search online for concert merchandize (yes, I'm highly optimistic regarding the fans and there internet search abilities in here.)
Let's just accept that there's a whole bunch of new fans up in here and let's just help them out whenever they ask obvious (to us who were there when it mattered) questions.
