A suggestion - "Prince: The Live Experience"

$19.99 a month.

Streaming soundboard recordings of eventually all of Prince’s
live shows, aftershows, and rehearsals.

+ Two times a year special limited edition vinyl
pressings of legendary concerts and/or aftershows,
all remastered, sent to your house.
One in June and one in April.

Is this a wish? Or are you suggesting this is going to actually happen?

$7.77 a month is more apropriate and more than enough I think.

As soon as it's online, one can access a free download.

Know what i'm sayin'?

I'm pretty sure that's why there is no, nor ever will be, some sort of NPGMC-type service.

Prince tried to secure all those downloads back then with that embedded DRM, which later rendered all those files useless.

Of course, we all got those songs back frome "somewhere", didn't we? lol

obviously, anno 2023? when you have sound and you have (moving) image,

and you have a computer and an internet connection...

you can steal or copy whetever the fuck you want, for free.

but, it's not the same of course as the 'official thing'...

No sorry, no subscription.

I would gladly pay for a direct download or product but I have to keep the monthly expenses at bay.

Subscriptions have the tendency o becoming expensive in the end with losing acces when stopping.

If it means we get access to vault material, soundboards and videos/concerts I'll be glad to cancel my Disney+/Hulu or Netflix to make room 😂

THIS.
I want a physical product that does not disappear when I end a subscription, lose my device, etc.
I can put a CD on my devices and keep the CD on my shelf for later use as needed.
Concerts?
They should stream one or two a month FREE to generate audience interest. WE know what those concerts were -- entice the general public to see what they missed.

Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me.

What about a monthly subscription entitling you to a limited edition vinyl edition
(and digital download) of a concert/aftershow/rehearsal?

One per month?

If it was streaming only, someone will find a way to rip copies.
I'd have no choice but to grab them lol

I will pay for downloads. I know.. I know these could be shared illegally as well.
But I'm willing to pay.

Monthly subscription downloads or just a store/shop.
Im willing to pay

But honestly I dont see any online subscription, exclusive music downloads happening anytime soon

I would be all over this, what I've been waiting for, which means the Estate will do everything possible to ensure it doesn't happen. At this point, I'd settle for a "Dick's Pick" type of package.

Why?
Limited editions are just useless in my opinon especially on vinyl. vinyl is a inferior medium that deteriorate fast so I would rather have CD's in vinyl packaging (I always loved the vinyl format artwork compared to the smaller CD format) but mak it available everyone or let them take preorders and press only as much as preordered.

Sound quality wise it could be better than CD (depending on thickness and deepness of the grooves onf the vinyl), but vinyl (the medium) deteriorates much quicker in quality (scratches, pops, clicks etc) after much spins.
That's just my experince from using it in the 70s, 80s and 90s.

No need to re-invent the wheel...

Estate just needs to hook-up go nugs.net. Many artists are there, and you can stream, or download.

Bruce Springsteen is a fan:

The Frank Zappa estate have the right idea... regular box sets / download options from carefully curated times in his career.

Take my money!

yeah I have downloaded several Santana concerts from nugs.net

the estate would be wise to go this route
