Welcome To The Rat Race - is a real track. You can find it on the Crucial bootleg. Recorded around 1986. Features Wendy & Lisa.

Sexy Mama Father - I saw a bootleg listing this track about 10 years ago. All it really is is SexyMF. Whoever did the packaging just mislabeled it.

Expert Lover - There's several versions of the track "Crystal Ball". Some of them are improperly labeled as Expert Lover.

» Welcome 2 The Rat Race = incorrect title for In A Large Room With No Light from 1986 - Circulating.

» Dance With Power = incorrect title for "We Got Power" (?) which was from 1988/89. - Circulating.

» Expert Lover = Crystal Ball (correct title) - recorded 1986 for the Dream Factory, and title track to "Crystal Ball" (the 3LP set re-named and released as Sign O' The Times as 2 LP set) - released in 1998 as the title track to an unreleased song 3 CD set.

» Paris - There is a song called "Paris 1798430", which was released by Tevin Campbell in 1993.

» Chatounette Controle - A remix of Pussy Control - released on the promo cassette "The Versace Experience".

As far as I know everything is false.

Some of the titles you mentioned are from the rumoured 2 LP of Purple Rain, which is 100% totally false and untrue, these titles do not, nor the 2LP, exist.

'Cruisin' Down The Highway' (as named by bootleggers) is actually a Purple Rain-era rehearsal by Prince and The Revolution of an instrumental version of 'Can't Stop This Feeling I Got'.

'Lust U always'[instrumental version] is the proper title of 'Divinity'.

'Jamming Till The Dawn' is an unreleased Puple Rain-era instrumental. A bass-track to this is also in circulation.

'Leave Me Alone' is actually a Parade-era song called 'Go'.

There are countless more...

unremarkable

"Let's Go-Go" is properly titled "Baby Go-Go". I have heard Prince's out-take and Nona Hendryx's released version.

"My Slippery Shoes" was, as I remember, meant to be a Time B-Side. Interestingly, though, Angie Stone does a song credited to her on the "Bamboozled" soundtrack, which Prince is also on, called "Slippery Shoes". This is described by warr.org as "retro"...it is in my download queue...

The songs "My Special World","Jamming Til The Dawn","The Loser In life","Take All 4 Granted","2 Late Darling" and "2 Many 2 Soon" do not really exist. These songs were all rumored to be on the 2-LP 'Purple Rain' soundtrack, but that whole story was false and those songs are fake titles.

Likewise,"My Slippery Shoes" is also a fake.It was rumored to be a 1983 song by the Time, planned for release as a single with another song called "Who's Afraid Of The Big Bad Wolf".However, this story is false and the songs don't really exist.

As I remember, "Paris" is also the title of the short musical intro to "Power Fantastic" deleted from the released version.

"How Come You Don't Call Me Anymore" was the b-side of "1999." It's on the Hits/B-Sides compilation.

I'm in complete agreement with your statement.
However, it is more or less general knowledge that one of the faked titles above ('Jamming Till The Dawn'), has previously been used to describe an existing unreleased instrumental from the Purple Rain-era, more commonly referred to as 'Climax' by bootleggers.
There is also a separate "bass-part".

According to TURN IT UP 2.0, there are two versions of this track currently circulating, 'Instrumental'#1 and 'Instrumental' [bass part]#2, possibly recorded by Prince during the 1983-1984 sessions.

The length for each track is (4:45) and (4:41), respectively.

Nods - yeah.

Anyone know if that is a bootleg title, or the actual title.

It's only about 30 seconds ain't it from what I remember. I can't be arsed to dig out Charade.

This was just an instrumental intro to 'Power Fantastic' that was left off.

The Work, volume 2 lists this brief jazzy passage as 'Power Fantastic'"intro".

However, the TURN IT UP 2.0 survey doesn't actually list it as a separate track from the actual full length track, which is (6:07).

In all likelyhood, the 'official' version of 'Power Fantastic', as released on 'The Hits/B-Sides', is an edit.
