We are some spoiled people. Let's be honest, we have everything we need. All the bombs are out. The boot songs are easily available. There can only be junk left. Yea, a pristine version of skoolyard, big deal. We have all the main jams: Cosmic Day, Large Room, Wally, jeez, that piano album kills everyting. We are so lucky and so spoiled. Be thankful you purple sickos. hehe. Love ya. I'll tell U what the Eye in the Pimp stand 4!

Maybe we're lucky to have what we've gotten so far but I sure as hell wouldn't say we're "spoiled" when we've gone two and a half years without any kind of major new release...

Well I still need video footage of concerts and aftershows that I could not attend, so I haven't been spoiled nearly enough! I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

For me, the leaked version has a decent sound: it's better than nothing.... "Money don't bring happiness but it pays for the search."

I'd argue we need pristine digital versions of the extended versions and b sides that were only on vinyl. Beyond that, I'd agree. But why settle when you can reasonably have more? It's all there, we want it, the estate will make money, and it will add to Prince's legacy and our understanding of him. Some people do ask for too much at once, perhaps, but we haven't had something for a good bit. Gimme tha goods! Things I'm still waiting for (excluded lives): More "Originals" from '80 with Data Bank, Neon Telephone, Happy Birthday Mr. Christian... and from '90 and over, I Hear Your Voice, Allegiance, Immersion, Sunday In The Park, Martika's Kitchen...
And a lot of unreleased songs we are listening in so-so quality sound:
Strange Way To Say I Love U Fun Love Evolsidog Joy In Repetition (with original intro drum) The Grand Progression (the final version I never heard) The Emancipation outtakes (I'm The DJ, Feel Good...)
...and counting.
And, yes, oblivious, the music we don't know it exist. Like most of Deliverance I think there are a lot of things we never heard before. What remains of aborted project like Hit'N'Run III? Madrid 2 Chicago? Roadhouse Garden and his brother album? Black Is The New Black? The second album of 3rdeyegirls?
I want this, now, I'm getting old, my ears are less responsive year by year, I cannot wait forever.

if he means most of the best stuff is out officially or in good enough bootleg quality... we may have most of the best. But NOT all! Yes many of the known songs are out there....I do believe that there are many great ones that we know nothing about and some we have heard of that are not in wide circulation. I honestly doubt Prince had mant "good" songs in the vault. The proof is in what has been released. It has been proven to us, and for some of us it's been known for decades, that the best stuff is what he decided to release. the rest, he put away to work on some other time. The 70s version of I could never take the lace of your man is nor as good as the reworked, and finally released version on sign of the times. Prince made decisions of what to release based on what he heard and reeased what he thought was worthy. I myself agree with his decisions. I know it comes down to taste, but, artists and producers do have a good isea of what they want their audience to hear and what they will pay for. It cheapens what the artist put together as a final product when all these other artifacts are presented as one with the original album.
Don't get me wrong, I buy the SDE or unreleased albums when they come out, but i won't be waiting, or clamoring for them. The estate only has to look as far as The John Lennon Estate to see what happens when the well runs dry and "new' product is nowhere to be found. Prince was a made that made a finite number of recordings good enough to be released. He released his best while alive and now that he's dead, the Estate, whether we like it not, is a business that wants to stay afloat for as long as possible , and the "good' shit has to be doled out slowly.
I think 50 albums is stretching it.
And, whatever we get, we bitch about anyway. [Edited 4/22/23 16:24pm]

"Good" is mostly relative. We are fans. We want to hear what he recorded, even if it's not up to par. It tells a story of where he was at that moment in his life. It's history. " ![]()

. - Well, compared to other fans, we are. Some fans wait like 10 years for a song or two. But part of the fun of being a Prince fan is to know he released so much music and we should dig the treasure. . Yes, there are many outtakes out there, but I believe some things are very well locked. I never had one single outtake of any of the Welcome 2 America songs, for example. And I dont believe there is only ´junk´ left. Most artists that worked with Prince say that they recorded many things that werent released. And I am curious to listen to anything he recorded with the 90s NPG, for example. Not to mention live concerts, jams, etc

I'd like to hear the psychedelic rock he claimed he worked on with Lenny Kravitz.

Prince himself taught me to be spoiled by releasing at least one album a year for almost the entire time he was alive. Especially in the 80s, with all the side projects. By comparison, it seemed nonstop. But, to your point: if nothing new comes out, I’m fully satisfied with what we have.
