calling out instruments in F.U.N.K.

There's a breakdown in the middle of the song where Prince calls out several instruments:

- "Gossip again? Ho-hum. Listen to my drum."

- "Fer scerd [?], your face. Listen to my bass."

- "Time will tell, we are. Listen to my guitar."

After he introduces the bass and the guitar, he plays some fills on those instruments. Nothing fancy. Just noodling to highlight them.

But after he introduces the drum, I don't hear anything except the basic beat carrying the song. There's no drum fills or noodling. Just a scratching sound effect, a female vocalist moaning (Shelby, according to PV), and Prince saying the line: "Digital music disappears in the daytime."

Am I missing something? Are my ears broken? Is there a drum fill that I'm just not hearing?

Or did Prince leave it out? Perhaps he intended to go back and overdub a drum fill, but forget?
