What would be too much for RJ I wonder. If they asked for $500 for an Ultra Exclusive Super Duper Fancy Tour, would that be too much? |

Why dont you and Trailer-Park Patrick just put your resources together and try to come up with the 170.00?...call it arrogance if you like, but im just not used to responsible grown ups complaining about spending 170.00 on something they love, or truly enjoy...sounds like broke people problems...and while im not "wealthy", i (and most other responsible and gainfully employed adults) can easily afford to spend 170.00 on entertanment...and yes, i am truly blessed in that way...maybe one day you will be too... |

Hey I spent $150 on Prince tickets (Rainbow Children tour). But that was for the man himself performing, not his things.
Either way, if people didn't pay for it, they wouldn't be able to charge it. I'm glad it's doing well enough to charge so much for a tour. |

I've noticed that the overpriced VIP PP events tickets always sell out in a heartbeat. |

Stay on topic goofball, because youre embarrassing yourself (again)...this thread aint about "celebrating"(and monetizing) someone's death annually, on the date of their passing...PP was open for visitors well BEFORE he passed...you tried it though...and i never said album release announcements were diabolical ..i said monetizing and commercializing death is diabolical...try to keep up Lil fella [Edited 4/6/23 14:47pm] |

And Prince announced albums before he died.
Tours of PP after Prince died are very different from tours of PP as his residence and primary work site. The current tours are about mourning his death, celebrating his life and being thankful for his achievements. This is not different from seeking more releases after his death - There is nothing diabolic about this, whether you go on 21 April or hear or hope for an announcement on that day or any other day.
There is no need for you to constantly make this personal.

1000 dollars for that Valentine's day event with no famous special guests wasn't overpriced ? |

A little from column A - If all the tickets sold then all the buyers willingly paid this amount and so long as they were happy at end.
And a little from column B - To most others (including me), it does not sound like good value at all and I would not be happy to pay this amount.

this new event they have for 4/21 is stupid, but has anyone mentioned it says a portion of the proceeds will go to charity? what a portion means i do not know, but at least it's not entirely greedy. also, there's nothing inherently wrong with remembering an artist on the day of their passing, rather than be sad, i think some fans would prefer to use the day to celebrate p's music and accomplishments. not everything has to be dour, some people do the same on and around his birthday. in the words of oingo boingo, it's truly just another day. |

Hmm, flying in from Europe, 2 weeks worth of hotels, 2 weeks car rent, 6 Janet Jackson concerts. I'd say it costs enough already. Ultimate about twice as much as VIP. But really, as stated before, it's not really an option anymore, as Ultimate is sold out the day I am in Minneapolis and I've bought VIP now. [Edited 4/6/23 19:33pm] |

That's like saying you're paying for a theatre ticket to sit in a seat.
You're kinda doing the same at Graceland, but the tours are longer and cheaper. And having a guy walk 25 or whatever people through a building is not really the same as putting on a theater play, is it.
I would imagine the upkeep and management of PP is more than a theatre play. |

I went to Celebration 2017 and was allowed in Studio B control room for free. I was also lucky enough to be in there with Susan Rogers (her first visit in years), so she sat me down at the controls and explained how the whole 'mucked up' Forevever in my life vocals happened. They also brought us out the Superbowl guitar for a feel and strum while we were in there. . |

if you already flying in from out of town, might as well do the ultimate.
Pics only allowed in the NPG room and Sound stage (his cars, pianos and clothes on display) "You know, this is funky but I wish he'd play like he used to, old scragglyhead son of a...*smack* OOH!"

$170 is a lot of money for many people.
Right now, as a middle-aged adult with no children, I have enough disposible income that I could swing it. But I'd spent most of my life in poverty, so I'd never ridicule someone who can't afford $170. That's messed up.

The day I toured PP (the day it opened to the public, back in 2016), the tour guide made a bit announcement about no photos right before we started. She said the rules were supposed to be no cell phones at all -- you were supposed to leave them in your car or at the lobby desk -- but they weren't going to strickly enforce that so long as everyone kept their cell phones in their pockets.
As soon as she finished, a girl in front of me had her phone ring. Did she silence it? Nope. She answered it. What fucking never. Everying was glaring at her. Her excuse was that her phone rang, as though she was obligated to answer it. She never heard of voicemail.

Like I already mentioned several times, it's already sold out (typically the only day I can go was sold out), so it's not really an issue anymore. Just wanted reassurance that I don't miss out on too much.
