the mix down on the shep remix is actually better than princes original one. or if not better, cleaner. it lifts it up i think. i never thought that song would work with an extended mix but it does. shep was a master in that era. shame it was never released.

More alternate mixes/versions of the album tracks would have been nice for the last 3 deluxe edition releases as well as the unreleased stuff. Like the home demo for "Let's Go Crazy", "The Beautiful Ones" with extra verse, "Little Red Corvette" 8-minute version, "DMSR" alt mix and loads more I could name.

Shep was indeed a master... a master diluting unquie songs so that they sound derivative.

If you wanted Prince to sound like everything else on the radio and ensure the production of his songs sounded "dated" after a few years, then by all means, have Shep remix them.
