I cared very much. I was one of many who said that surrounding himself with yes-men was a disastrous choice.

.

I simply didn't care about the at best mediocre tripe he released post-1995, and I said numerous times that the vault should have been monetized. Meanwhile you lot were saying with each new release "his best one in years", ignoring that you said the same about the previous ones and instead now pretending you never liked those ones that much.

This here is why the Estate can think so lowly of the Org. The constant push that nothing was good enough to even listen to except what that fan liked when they first got into Prince - Always expressed with absolute ridigity.

We lot have not always said about each album since 1996 that this is "his best in years" and then turned our backs on that ablum for ever. Even if you could find 1 person who did - all this means is that when they said that they liked that album better than the previous two or more at the time they said it. This is possble whether the artist's are albums are generally improving, declining or staying fairly constant over time.

There are many great songs and albums since 1995 and, indeed, where the Estate is going wrong is that there is little recognition in their releases that are post WB. Strange given how Prince ultimately thought of WB. Where is the Hits and B-Sides for the post WB era? The complilation sets that are not just the same songs on previous complilation sets?

I know he died in April, just had the dates mixed up. Sue me.

I'm a fairly new fan anyway I don't claim to hold a PHD on Prince.

You don't hold a PhD on spelling "PhD".
Damn, we need blocking capability in these parts.

Yes, I know that!! This is just a collection of what was already available.

Note it has no B-sides like the Hits and B-Sides did. Also note for many other artist's compilations there are new tracks. Hits and B-Sides had both new tracks and tracks that were otherwise not available.

Based on the numbers participating here, the last thing we need is people wanting to shutdown conversations between people with a strong and positive interest in Prince's music based on a formating error.

I would love it if they put the Hits and B-Sides album on vinyl--would buy it in an instant. I have the Cd. Don't understand why they won't put it on vinyl. neutral

Exactly.

Just be kind to EVERYONE.

Same goes for all the Barts Bizzies!

There's so goddamn much to know and learn about Prince and still even much more to discover...

90 % of people in here are over 45yo, so stop behaving like children.

It's all about the way you bring up things.

Give new and old fans a break.

Not everyone is good and easy with finding shit on the internet.

And people make mistakes, all the time.

If you don't like that go to 'Self Help Perfectionism Resources.'

...for fucks sake. wink

Seriously? You're ridiculing someone for a minor mistake? You wish you could block someone who make a minor mistake?

You're comment is unnecessarily cruel. Why do that? That's the behavoir of a bully, not of a civilized adult.

Some asshole named Bart who now posts under a different name for whatever reason. Just ignore him, he has always been like this and clearly has no desire to change.

I know everybody wants more music. But could it be that the big SDEs are loss-making endeavours? I have no idea about the costs involved in mastering the music, producing the high gloss booklets, and to create the physical copies... Does anybody have inside into this (please, no outside guessing, only replies form someone who really knows...)

It has been discussed here before, and SDE's surely still make enough profit.

Enough to keep things going, and give the incompetent non musical family hounds each a bag of fresh bones. And that is where the whole problem is. The bag of bones is probably never enough.

So the hounds bite and fight, spend probably more than they earn or think they deserve, and that's when shit hits the fan, imho.

We end up with no info, no nothing since two years, except for low quality produced trash like slippers, sheets, pyjamas... And that Michael Howe is out of the picture with no explanation whatsoever.

Now they want to keep us hanging on for nearly three months now, with the number '7'...

It really depends what you are doing with the SDE, are we talking CD or Vinyl, whats the weight of the Vinyl pressing. Vinyl can run $5 to $20 standard black, no artwork, etc...just the basics. So then you factor in whats in the box, the books, all the bells and whistles that goes into these, the packaging, then shipping to whatever stores, people, amazon etc... The only thing that really is pretty easy to do is getting the music. Unless you are dealing with old masters and having to bake tapes etc... Also now there is again some delays on Vinyl Pressings, a lot of artists are finding they have to do it by preorder basically get the money first and that secures it for you, which is why you will see things vanish quickly, and we didnt even talk about doing all these colored vinyl pressings which adds on. If they press in volume obviously they will get a better rate, but this also creates backlogs at the pressing plants, recent releases by Adele on vinyl caused backlogs and the shit didnt even sell much on vinyl because of the bloated cost for it no one was paying 49,99 for a double Adele album not sure what some artists are thinking, I mean I get she is a huge artist so to speak but she does not have that kind of "Taylor Swift" like base that wants everything, wants the vinyl wants the 7" vinyl etc...You also will see drops in SDE prices soon after if they aren't selling and places like Amazon cant store this stuff, some labels DO NOT take things back, this is not the 90's when you could send it back, indie record stores have this issue all the time now, labels and distributors take NOTHING back if it doesn't sell.

Some of these people are truly miserable I swear the highlight of their pathetic existence is bullying someone on a forum. Let's just ignore them and keep it moving.

Maybe some of you can take your own advice. It's not up to anyone to tell people what to do. If you don't like something someone posts you can always report it, but since the person you all complain about isn't actually doing anything wrong I wish you luck with that. You complain about a certain someone being rude then you think it's ok to come here and call him all the bastards.. Lol. He or she is voicing an opinion, just like you. It's a public forum.

Carry on with your two-faced bullshit.

Someone saying that they think "Around The World In A Day" is a better album than "Dirty Mind" is stating an opinion.

.

Making fun of someone for incorrectly captilization in "PhD" is bullying. Or, dare I say it, asshole-ishness.

Are you seriously trying to draw a moral equivalance between these two things:

1.) Ridiculing someone for typing PhD as PHD.
2.) Rebuking the person who ridiculed someone for spelling PhD and PHD.

You are correct that they are both opinions and both have the right to be expressed. But the former is bullying, the latter is not.
