Romance 1600 the song

You can hear prince in the background on probably every song on the album, but this song alone is so incredible that i cant believe Sheila never performed it live.

Has anyone heard it live ?

Has anyone heard an only prince version ... that would be incredible to add to my collection

such a puzzle i cant find any version of it live or otherwise except from the album

im not asking for link or anything of that nature, this is just strictly discussion

I love this song. It's got a lot of energy.

According to PV, Prince never played it live, but that leaves open the questio of whether Sheila did. I don't think I've seen any of her concerts except the one released on video, and oddly enough, depites being titled Live Romance 1600, she didn't play that song.

If not mistaken,"Romance 1600" was in Tokyo setlist.

This post made me realize something: I have never, ever listened to this album! I've heard "A Love Bizarre" multiple times, but that's it.

.

So I just fired up the album and gave it a spin. Holy cow, it's great! It's non-stop mid-80s Prince production perfection. "Toy Box", "Dear Michaelangelo", and the title track are fantastic.

.

Thanks to the OP for prodding me into enjoying some great music!

Yes, it's a great album. It's my favorite protege album.

I'd also recommend the Sister Fate video. It's really good!

It's a great album.

Highlights for me Are Dear Michaelangelo, A Love Bizarre and Romance 1600.

I actually prefer Toy Box as an instrumental.

In '86, popping on the Romance 1600 Live VHS was my after-school ritual. Wore out 3 tapes!
