The only snippets of the shows I remember being officially released were short clips of Prince's voice as he told the story of his life in between each song at the 8 pm show at Paisley on 21 January 2016. They're embedded inside the multimedia presentation of Prince's Early Years on his official website. I remember being blown away by how clear and clean these clips sounded, because when I attended the show in person, the reverb effect on his microphone was so strong during the spoken bits that I couldn't understand the majority of them! Of course, my hearing hasn't been top-notch since my early childhood, because of chronic ear infections.

A proper release of a "Piano & a Microphone 2016 Super Deluxe Edition" is #1 on my personal wishlist. Ideally, I'd want a Blu-ray of the first two shows at Paisley, along with CDs of the final two shows in Atlanta. If they threw in one or two of the Australian shows also (either audio or video), that would be the icing on the cake. The only thing I wouldn't be happy with is a "best of the tour" compilation that tries to pass off a blend of performances from multiple tour stops as a cohesive "concert experience," like Prince did with One Nite Alone...Live! Give me full unedited gigs, or give me nothing. The only alteration I'll accept is the lowering of crowd noise to hear the vocals and instruments more up-front in the mix.

You probably mean the official release of "Black Sweat" from the final show that Prince himself put out on Tidal three days before he transitioned.

That reminds me - who is the person on the title? In the b/w image? What connection is there to Prince?

Ah yes, the eternal struggle of Orgers: clicking on a link, and then scrolling and then reading. Impossible. As is well known, Orgers do not have access to devices that can handle such intricate commands, such advanced technology. I mean, it's not like such functionality has been part of web browsers since at least the mid-1990s.

Midway through the performance Prince adlibs to the crowd "You got (me) makin' my funky face.., Got me lookin' like Edward G. Robinson up in here." So he put Edward G. Robinson on the cover art.

Apparently Prince announced four days before his death that the last Atlanta show had been recorded for release (and played 30 minutes of it for people at Paisley Park): http://www.princevault.co...il_2016-am

Some speculate that it hasn't been released because he sings "I don't need no doctor" during Baby I'm a Star. To me it's just absurd that the estate won't even release what the man himself intended, but there you go...

The estate really blew it when they didn't release the Atlanta show back in 2016 but instead we got the boring P&M 1983 two years later.

Well, I personally love Piano & a Microphone 1983, but I agree that it makes no sense that they haven't released the Atlanta show. The two would've have even made a helluwa combined release.

Bart isn't even his real name. And Van Hemelen isn't his real last name.

Not that I'm about to dox him but he's used a few different aliases. He's a very old man though.

Yes!
Maybe they're only into celebrating evrything and only do anniversary releases, hopefully not but because they won't let anything known to us except when they have bedsheets and other tacky non music garbage for sale, this is all we can hope?

I believe we have to wait for the Netflix doc to drop or be abandoned before we see any of that though.

Like in a Twitter post about 4 or 5 years ago? I remember IT SOUNDED AWESOME!!!! Please release these shows!!! Please!!

Isn't it just the matter of fans could totally do this if we were the least bit technologically knowledgable. I mean, what is the harm in giving people a link to a temporary copy of a file from a CD of something? I'm not talking about making subscription money or charging a performance fee. I'm not even talking about file sharing because technically everybody would have a different temporary file they would be listening to.

Are you saying the show sounded awesome or the IDEA of the RELEASE OF THE SHOW is what sounded awesome?

I need to get my own place and my studio hooked up, I'm ready to start giving access to my INTERACTIVE CD.
