Wherever U go, Whatever U do for the sentiment in the words as from the father to a daughter.

And God Created woman, Sweet Baby. And we were naked and did not care There's a time to take and a time to share Two in love all around and all aware Flesh of my flesh Yes this does sound like a song a father should dance to with his daughter.

Anyway, my suggestions should be in line with the OP and subsequent replies: I Love U In Me Damn U Scandalous If they wanna get a little fancy: Courtin Time Wasted Kisses (a father singing about his son but u get it) Jughead

Probably best sticking to an instrumental, such as Alexa de Paris or Fatherās Song. Whenever I look to deeply into Prince lyrics, thereās nearly always a line or two that is like a teenagerās humour, e.g. U Got the Look with itās letās get to ramminā one. There may or may not be something coming!

Wherever U go, whatever U do
Oh please, remember that I'll always be there for U U don't have to call, U don't have to say Just think about me and I'll be on my way I don't have to worry, I'm sure U'll be fine
'Cuz if U stay happy, then what's yours is mine Wherever U go, whatever U do Remember that I'll always be there for U Wherever U are, think of your dreams Oh please, remember life ain't always what it seems For each rainy day (rainy day) That comes your way The Sun will come shining and U'll be okay Keep on smiling, every girl and boy Remember when U were children U had toys Wherever U R, think of your dreams Remember that dreams become the life U lead Whatever U play, it's okay to lose Ooh sometimes (sometimes) As long as U learn from every game U choose If one thing is sure, U'll always endure If U try your best at everything U do Say what U mean and mean what U say The price for a broken heart, it's to much to pay And nothing is worth it, if U don't have to try The higher the stakes, the higher the sky Wherever U go, whatever U do Please remember Remember that I'll always be there for U And I did not have to change the words to fit an interpretation.

I thought you guys decided Wasted kisses wasnt about his son ?
Edit : nevermind, I saw it was sarcasm.
Damn, so no PG Prince songs exist ?
Let me suggest Starfish and Coffee or Last December then. [Edited 2/26/23 12:36pm] [Edited 2/26/23 12:38pm]

"The Song of the Heart"?

It doesn't say it in the song. Only Prince superfans know this.

WhisperingDandelions said: "The Song of the Heart"? Right, why not songs like this one? There's plenty really. Who even says you gotta dance to a Prince song during the father/daughter dance? It's like if your favorite song is Pony by Ginuwine, something still has to override that and appropriateness enters the conversation. Make Your Mama Happy Song of the Heart Wherever U Go Baby I'm A Star Diamonds and Pearls (why has nobody said this but they will say sexual songs?) Get Yo Groove On Until You're In My Arms Again (actually written about a child) Black Muse Big City Yes So many options but y'all perverts.

It's clearly something, unfamiliar with backstory. Any way, "wedding song", not preschool graduation ceremony.

Because the muppets would've been watched by kids with development issues. That makes sense. In this context, it does not. People will be making the associations. If they like the song they hear, they'll ask what it is. On and on. There's so many better songs, even one you suggested, that would fit without questions.

Black muse , Get yo Groove on and Big city are not fit for a father daughter dance at a wedding.
Father-daughter dances are usually slow.
I actually named Starfish and Coffee because I couldn't think of other PG songs at the moment but even that one is a bit too upbeat. [Edited 2/26/23 15:27pm]
