The song Controversy might be my all time favorite song. It still blows me away today, over 40 years later.

I think this album could use a remaster. It's so painfully quiet. It's very noticible when I have songs on shuffle. Any time a Controversy album cut comes on, it's significantly lower than the preceding song. I have to crank up the volume, then turn it down again for the next song. (Apple has a function that supposedly levels out fhe volume across your tracks, but I find it useless.) I don't want them to brickwall it, but surely there's a happy middle ground between super quiet and brickwall.

There is a complete set with all the footage assembeld including the concert they wanted to use and some footage of Prince on the set of the Controversy/Sexuality videoshoot with Prince mentioning Paradiso as inspiration for the church window set of the video.

My fandom started with Controversy so I would love anything linked to that album.

Just please don't bundle it with Dirty Mind.

Controversy is often overlooked as a masterpiece in the string of albums leading up to PR. It's treated as a "stepping stone" of sorts between Dirty Mind and 1999.

I would love a dedicated Controversy SDE. It doesn't have to be 6 discs -- if there's only enough for 3-4, so be it. Something priced like 1999:SDE was.
