There is nothing on this record that makes me nervous, but there's enough freedom of speech on that album as well;
''Now where I come from, We don't give a damn
Nowhere bound, Narrow-minded drag, It's all about being free" About freedom of speech or interpretation:
This is probably going to be completely misunderstood, but here i go again:
Here incest is not the subject like in 'sexual abuse' or the literal meaning of it.
It rather refers to a form of supreme horniness and it doesn't matter who or what (within this context).
It is also a momentary fantasy, rather even fun for both parties, and therefor is nothing wrong going on imho,
cause it is a fantasy poored in a song lyric.
Again, I am very clearly not talking about unwanted incest as such.
It is about the budding sexuality of a boy who fantasizes about his sister.
The lyric can be read/interpretated more as a metaphor than as an actual sexual act (i think).
Of course Prince was more about the shock element than anything else, keep that in mind too.
"The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves. And wiser people so full of doubts" (Bertrand Russell 1872-1972)

those are good songs too,but I think "When You Were Mine" took things to a whole new level.I feel that way about the entire 'Dirty Mind' album.I consider "Head" to be his first funk masterpice.
