Even nice covers are welcome.

I start with these two:

''Arms Of Orion''

Morris Day - Cooler Than Santa Claus.

I've literally just discovered this song yesterday and instantly added it to my Christmas playlist. It hasn't fully grown on me just yet but it's getting there.

Come to Belgium, put your feet under the table here.

Wouldn't mind having a Prince fan to support me at Xmas dinner. smile

Thing is, here on the .org you're never 'solo', it's also something.

Or get positively sad, and play that growing Princemas-playlist...

Could include ‘Christmas Vacation’ by Mavis Staples that, although does not have Prince involvement, it was released as a Paisley Park promo single, to promote the film of the same name - it was the theme tune. It was also a b-side on the 12” of ‘Time Waits For No One’, so linked to Prince.
There may or may not be something coming!

I had a Prince-mas CD that I burned back in the day...Off the top of my head:

Another Lonely Christmas

I Wish U Heaven

Belle of St Mark (yeah, those sleigh bells)

Closing of the Year W&L

Reaching One W&L (again, sleigh bells)

River Joni Mitchell

4 Tears in Your Eyes

Merry Christmas to the World Sounds of Blackness

The Weight - Staples Singers

Winter Wonderland - Eurythimics...I know nothing to do with Prince...I just really liked it and it has a drum machine, lol

There were others...and alot of these are stretches I know...but everyone seemed to like it. I remember specifically the one people really dug was Closing of the Year by Wendy & Lisa.

Power Fantastic has always seemed like a great winter/holiday song to me. It just feels so evocative, like sitting in front of a fireplace on a cold snowy night

I agree.

And since we have this powerful intro where we hear Prince explaining studio work to the band... makes it even more special to me... just to hear his voice.

"Winter Wonderland" by Good Question - there's a Prince sample at the very end. smile

And if you're going to mention Sounds of Blackness then any song from Alexander O'Neal's Christmas album, My Gift to You could also be included. It's very Minneapolis.

It's interesting that Prince didn't hardly record any holiday songs.

"O Holy Night" by Tevin Campbell

"It's Christmas All Over the World" by Sheena Easton

"Santa Baby" by Sheila E

"White Flags of Winter Chimneys" by Wendy & Lisa

For very obscure, The Three O'Clock did "Regina Caeli" as a holiday single, even though it's traditionally an Easter song:
