Prince interviewed on Howard Stern… would it have ever happened? After listening to the recent interview that Howard did with Bruce Springsteen, I wondered if P might’ve eventually done one with him? Howard often praises P and seems to love his music.

We'll never know, and clearly he wasn't interested while he was still alive. Sorry, it's the Hodgkin's talking.

Would have been pointless as he wouldn't have answered any of the "spicy" questions Howard Stern likes to ask his guests.

These days Stern doesn't probe interviewees's sex lives as much and is generally kinder to people (which kind of makes him boring). He's really into music and had a lot of respect for Prince, so I'd assume the interview would focus on the actual music.

I'll always love Howard! He's a legend. Mature Prince and Mature Howard are good things and I'd like to see them chat. However, I think Howard does ask driving questions that would still put Prince off potentially. He'd definitely have to stay away from prince's religion and conspiracies.

Good to know he's changed. I've hated Howard Stern for years because I thought he was so rude. He's attacked some other artists that I like so I've always held some kind of grudge. [Edited 11/2/22 19:04pm]

I wonder if and how many times the show tried to contact him for a interview? Maybe that’s a call in question, if one could ever get through. The caliber of music artists Howard has had on recently made me think of Prince. Even though I really can’t see him opening up in that format. But definitely could see him playing songs and let the music do the talking.

That would've been a classic Prince walk-off! "Whatever skin we're in
we all need 2 b friends" | |

Yeah but you're distinctly referring to a Howard Stern that pretty much hasn't existed for the better part of 15 years or even more. He got even more soft after Robin got cancer or whatever it was. I don't think the Stern who published that interview book (which I loved btw, as a whole) would be making people walk off now or berating them off camera. Off topic but my favorite Stern moments are with Richard Simmons exactly because Richard was in on the bit. Prince had a sense of humor all his own, though, and rarely played nice so I don't think he ever could've tolerated Stern even if it was all in fun.

We wish. Maybe in 1996. The Howard I stopped tuning into a decade ago would've had Robin abruptly start the news at 8:30 and then barrel out there before 9am, take six weeks of vacation and then ignore a caller asking "Hey Howid what happened two months ago with Prince?", ".......he's around."

Nope, would’ve never happened. Maybe by phone so he could just hang up, but I seriously doubt it.

Richard SImmons was a great guest but MARK HARRIS was the ALL TIME GREATEST! Omg I still crack up thinking about him and his failed TV shows, his Cabaret act and Martha!

I think it could have happened.
Howard is a HUGE Prince fan. His "eulogy" for Prince was just fantastic. Howard constantly sings the praises of the "Batman" album, which shows that he is a true fan. The only time I really heard him bash Prince was when he went to see a Prince show and P performed the show entirely in the dark.

My favorite thing to say when i'm posting and talking about Prince is "well MY theory is"....
It probably already happened I mean, you don't get to have an interview with Larry King and not be interested in interviews or people that do interviews or being on a show being interviewed.
I think he would have liked Howard Stone sorry I mean Howard Stern because Howard is a really good listener. Welcome to "the org", heartpeacesheart…

Oh he's a pussycat now. What artists, MJ? He's apologized for that a million times. "You know Robin, maybe I was just too angry at everything then and he just wanted to make a friend..."

Lookin' for sum Howie quotes, found the eulogy. Here's some cliffs, editing around Howie still whining about Prince turning off the lights at a concert and mild shock jockery:
source: http://www.marksfriggin.c...-2.htm#mon Remembering Prince. 05/02/16. 7:10am Howard said Prince was the most talented artist. Howard said forget the guitar playing. He said forget he put out the best movie album too. Howard said the guy could dance like James Brown too. Howard said the guy could play guitar and dance and he could play every instrument. Howard said the idea that he's gone is like Steve Jobs dying.
Howard said the guy was such a talent. He said it was news to people that he was that great of a guitarist. Robin said if you watched him on stage you were shocked. She said he was dancing at the same time. Howard said rest in peace Prince and went to break.
Even with the lights issue Howie later apologized, something like, "look, maybe he wasnt in the mood for bright lights, fine, I just wanted to watch him play his guitar."

Shit, get Fink in there. Or Morris. Wendy & Lisa? He has millions of listeners and wether you like his current format or not, the guy can pull some info out of his guests like no other. Maybe that kind of attention would refresh estate activity or stimulate record sales. Push another release. Eh? Eh? Somebody call Fah Fah Foe Hi.

Actually that's a great idea because Howard is a fan and would ask questions that dispel the bs. Kinda like how the Sunset Sound guys double and triple checked with Susan Rogers that P was the akle writer on the songs Apples claimed.

As an avid fan of both. Howard loves the Batman soundtrack, he considers it the greatest soundtrack ever. He goes crazy for Batdance, it's comical the praise he gives it. He has respect for Prince as a musician, but he has also been very critical of Prince's behavior/attitude at times. It would only be a good interview if Prince was willing to not put up a front.

All I heard when I read that is those words in Elmo's voice. Sorry. I had just read somebody's comment questioning something that I wrote and the energy passed over to this response. I'm about to address that in a second.

i could be talking about? Howard Stern doesn't have the balls to interview anybody that posts on this website I can tell you that much. What makes me say that? Because I'm assuming that since I've only watched about 100 of his bits he doesn't know I'm alive. I am almost equally sure that if we post on this website, an interview with Howard Stern would be disqualifying. Or vice versa. Whatever.
And forgive me for sounding like a mean person to ask this, or to suggest this, but are you BLIND? Welcome to "the org", heartpeacesheart…

It would be good even if he did put up a front and modern Howard would probably be fine with that.

I don't see anywhere where anyone mentioned interviewing anyone that posts on this website. The poster mentioned interviewing a former band member or associate.
