Get yourself the already mentioned "Diamonds & Pearls Beginnings" boot. It's the November 1990 configuration of the album. A couple of the tracks are different stripped down versions/mixes, and sound quality is superb.

Agree about the final mix of things making or breaking a track - I've been listening to the Eye No early mixes and you can hear so much more of the BVs etc, although the final mix is better if I had to choose.
