Best sounding soundboard. I'm not trying to solicit any bootlegs but I just want to know what is the best sounding soundboard. I'm looking for something like the birthday concert that came from the free boot generation. That quality was crystal clear. I'm also looking for good quality rehearsals as well. Any suggestions?
Moderators is it cool that I pose this question? [Edited 11/6/22 10:36am]

There have been a ton of great soundboards released in the last few years. I think the answer to your question is going to depend on what era you're looking for.

The Miami birthday show 1995, return of the bump squad, is def the best sounding soundboard of all. Not even Small Club rivals it. The closest quality I can compare it to is Sendai/Osaka/Nagoya and nothing touches those either in terms of sheer range of sound and level of clarity.

But anything that was ever included in the City Lights series is pretty epic. As are some of the PR soundboards. Often times it boils down to the mastering! Some of these labels have clowns at the helm and they make clueless choices.

Yes, the Japanese 1989 shows are AWESOME. The Small Club 1988 show is, of course, possibly the best. The 1984 Birthday show is also incredible....so so good.

The 3/8/82 First Avenue show is pure magic. I've been listening to it non-stop for the last few days.
