Looking at the forthcoming Queen "The Miracle" Super Deluxe Do people here agree that this is the way the Prince Estate should be going.... Vinyl for the main album Cd's for the remixes and additional content DVD & Blu-Ray for the video conten?
It would certainly help with the vinyl pressing issues

I personally have no need for ANY vinyl, but perhaps a CD & Blu-Ray only version And a Vinyl and CD / Blu-ray for those that what the album on vinyl The Orger formally known as JAYJOE

Digital would be best, then do an on-demand pressing when you reach certain amount of orders for vinyl, CD, 8-track, cassette, minidisc, wax cyllinder etc. |

the remasters are trash .. noone should want any version of that .. they could easily make high quality complilations of the outtakes and sell individual small releases in every format .. take low quality curisoties like pnm 83 velvet kitty kat, our destiny and whatever else is mp3 sourced and put that on some digital download site .. this way we get new albums of unheard tunes in every format .. we get poor quality outtakes as digital downloads .. and they can rerelease whatever original albums on vinyl separately for collectors .. oh and live shows should have their own release as well .. eye like the SDE concept but the remasters are rubbish so that is a waste .. and the packaging is not very interesting so that is a waste .. and mixing lo fi with hi fi is silly when the public would eat up a quality outtakes release easier than sifting thru mixmash SDE | |

Shame the CD in the box isn’t a full concert. Instead it’s only 1 song, a live 6 minute version of “Controversy” from a show. $300 is a bit much for me for that, although they have been going for much more than that on the resale market, up to now! There may or may not be something coming! |

I fully agree with that. - To get back to the subject... For a while (from end last year till now) i wasn't all that much interested in Prince news, more or less expecting no interesting news or releases anyways. After the so called announced rumor for a D&P SDE, I left the idea of another nice SDE (like Parade or whatever pré-'90s). I have no interest in D&P whatsoever, imh his worst attempt to commercial music after the great 80's era. Sure I respect those who were really looking forward to it. - Anyways, so, who is in charge now ? Is Michael Howe gone? Is Sharon Nelson in charge now ? Sorry for asking, i don't know where to start again to search for more info... Thanks anyways for an update.

Howe is gone...Troy Carter the same....now you have the worst association ever...Sharon Nelson & MC Millan ..the best was unfortunately behind us...MC Millan is not interested by old fans anyway...money will be made with tv commercials ..back catalogue streamings...Broadway representations...motion pictures...Cirque du Soleil performances with Prince's music for example or things like that etc

Dark times for the fans. It seems the good relationships between the estate guardians and the record companies is gone, and the new estate is messing with everything. All plans put on hold… and the next big SDE now scaled right back to basics.  Fingers crossed it all works out in the end. |
