And you have not addressed that the songs says in its second verse "which one of us is right if we always fight" - Hardly a reference to a literal little baby - especially an unborn baby of a pregnant girlfriend.

.

Given this, "little baby" is not meant literally and is more likely to be just a term of endearment.

I don't know,in"Jam of the Year"Rosey sings the line "I like to beat a baby."

.

Isn't it:

.

"I'd like to be a baby, I wanna be in kindy company"?

My conclusion is that, like a lot of Prince song, it could be a combination of different situations but I'm sure one of them involves possibly welcoming a child.

Oh, look - another one who thinks she can read the mind of a dead man. rolleyes

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Seeking to interpret lyrics (or any artwork by any artist or comments by any person) is by no means reliant on delusions of being a medium.

Jokes aside, I'm serious, this is the first video where he appears with children.

It must have meant something.

and these lyrics in the end :

Would you be, would you, would you, a happy boy or a girl
(Would ya, would ya, would ya be happy little baby)

If I could I would give you the world

Back in the day, I thought this part meant he was bissexual. But maybe it was for Rosie to sing too.

He was playing a lot with the bisexual thing in this period.
“A happy boy or a girl”
“There’s some kings in my deck, and Queen or 2”
Plus the dance routines with male and female dancers.
And though to ‘95 is outfits and makeup got more and more feminine.
