And I always remember that so many of his greatest triumphs-- Purple Rain, all that stuff-- did not happen at Paisley Park. It happened at a warehouse where they practice in St. Louis Park. So much happened in North Minneapolis. So much happened other places. So I've never been fully convinced that that is the capital, the spiritual capital of Prince.

moral of the story = be careful what you wish for.

if you accept that much as i like the later years too, his general peak was pre-88, and that was done at studios that werent PP, and sometimes not even at studios, its prob good proof that sometimes getting what you want, rather than working around limitations, isnt always the best for creativity.

Yeah, sure.
Have you heard of ANY Prince associate who ever heard of him AFTER his last Rolling Stone interview with Prince?
If you've read the book, you'll see that much of it doesn't stand up. against known facts.

I just skimmed through the article. He says they took the blowed up photo of Prince from the RS cover that was outside his office down. That isn't even true. It's hanging in the hallway outside of Studio B, where it's been for years.
