I've loved these videos from Sunset Sound. There are longer ones in the past, including that one w/ Apollonia where a torn page is allegedly something Prince did. Felt a little too convenient, but who knows.
Peggy McCreary has such great stories, too. She was never on Prince's payroll. She was a Sunset Sound employee.
I find it fascinating that the Rivkins go so far back with Prince. We often just think of Bobby being in the band, but David being there since so early on is amazing. The same with Ricky Peterson. Before anyone really knew who he was (and barely knew Paul's 18 year old self in the movie), he was around. The Petersons are local celebrities in their rich and long music history in Minneapolis, so I suppose any of them and Prince eventually crossing paths was going to happen. But Ricky's been around so much, just like David.
St. Paul even played on later Prince related projects post-Purple Rain/The Family. " don’t really care so much what people say about me because it is a reflection of who they r." |

Good interview but I was waiting for David Z to fill the gap between Prince huming into a portable recorder and Owen Husney. Chris Moon is completely left out.
Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me. |
