But apparently, this wasn't true at all. And I JUST NOW found this out bro lol I remember the 3RDEYEGIRL Twiiter account posting about it and i didn't give much thought after that or see anything else about it. But apparently it was fake:

Apparently the story fooled the person who Prince let run that twitter account... I'm sure he might have been the one to urge The Current to post a factcheck article about that...

but the funny thing is, I can totally hear him say "I’m from Minneapolis so the cold never bothered me anyway."

Maybe everything else sounds questionable and/or fake, but when I read that part, I read it in his voice.
