Always been intrigued by "Strawberries" recorded in the Gold Experience era!
I loved all of the songs from that time period The Orger formally known as JAYJOE

I'd want the video of my first concert, 29 April 2002 in Seattle. https://www.youtube.com/@PurpleKnightsPodcast |

Nonsense. .. ...Nonsense too...this first initial version as reported by Howe and MC Creary in the vault is my Saint Graal ever...not because this version would be or not be better... because I want to listen the written studio process of the most incredible and avant-garde song ever written by Prince IMO! |

From what was said by the guy who has them it was like this:
'85 initial recording '86 slightly tweaked, mixed and mastered '93 again slightly tweaked, mixed and remastered
I was shocked to read this a few years ago. After first seeing the video in 95 on The Ultimate Live Experience Tour, and then getting it on a VHS boot, I'll always associate it with that era.
.
Yes, it's a funny case of cognitive dissonance: I know everybody says it's the 1985 version and I'm sure it is, but my eyes see Sonny T. and Michael B. play that exact same version. My brain has always struggled with this.

WB didn't have that version that's why and the only reason it isn't on Purple Rain Deluxe, same with 17 Days extended, all these versions are with Prince, WB even said they sent the master for 17 Days Extended to Prince back in the day. They found the alternate When Doves Cry versions when they were sorting the Paisley Park vault. Versions that were exactly described decades ago but noone believed it and then finally confirmed by Mcreary in 2017.

Exactly! I'm not saying I refuse to believe but...
Plus my go-to live version is from The Conga Room with Michael and Sonny |

My brain has always struggled with this. I had the same issue with this song, and with mentally placing Question Of U around the same period in 85. I think 85 might be one of his hardest guitar eras. |
