That song that he said was too good for the public to hear yet, a ballad I think, in an interview With a journalist in the back of his car! In the late 90s?

That was The Divine.
He tried to place it on different albums and I think it was about Emancipation in that interview but he tld the intervioewer that he would drop it from there because it was too ahead of its time and/or too good for the people to here yet. That's why I really would like to hear that one.

I would like to hear The Divine. I wouldn't be surprised if this song is the Purple Rain of the 90s instead of Gold. I would also like to hear the unreleased Madrid 2 Chicago album and The Rainbow Children 2.

I would also love to hear the first completely different Rainbow Children album and the second version with a different A-side.

If the rumors were true that Prince rerecorded some Beatles songs, I'd love to hear those.

Tracks from Black Is The New Black.

An extended version of Time, if that exists, the song ends so funky I have a feeling that went on for a bit.

The 17 min version of Lavaux.

Any unreleased tracks with Prince and Clare Fischer (e.g. All The King's Horses).

Prince vocals on Ice Cream Castles

The Sweeter She Is

Am I Without U

Born Free

Della Blackheart

Any 3rd Eye Girl tracks

Rumors of Prince recording some Flamingo type music down in Panama, especially if they were Mancini inspired.

From what I know..the 1995 version of the song Empty Room is the same as the one from 85..the differences would be in the mastering process... that's it...others will confirm or will correct this info... anyway the 95 version is basically the same!

From what was said by the guy who has them it was like this:

'85 initial recording
'86 slightly tweaked, mixed and mastered
'93 again slightly tweaked, mixed and remastered

There was a completely different configuartion of The Rainbow Children? This is the first I've heard of it. I would love to hear that and the supposed 'Rainbow Children 2' though I suspect that was more of a concept than a finished work. I would be really interested to hear any songs from this period in general.

Otherwise, I'm mostly interested in stuff we don't know exists. I do hope there are a few fully realised projects we know nothing about.

Sam Jennings mentioned The Rainbow Children 2 in 2016 and was asked by Prince to work on the packaging for the album. So it's possible that the project was almost finished and there must at least be some tracklist for TRC2.

Both work in progress versions or concept versions of The Rainbow Children were shared to some last year. One was said to be a completely different album and the second version has I thnk the A-side of that first version and the B-side of the released version wit slightly diifferent versions of the released tracks as in different mixes, earlier versions, different edits and all these things. I really hope for a comprehensive SDE for this album someday.

Interesting. Did they listen to the material or are they just privy to tracklists etc? Any descriptions of this stuff would be incredible.

Some only got the tracklist others got the complete sequences. All of this shit is being shared on some Discord with only about 20 members or so I think and sometimes some info from there leaks to other Discords, or the guy who posts this stuff on that 20 man Discord sometimes posts some info on another Discord.

Since we're going to end up getting basically everything musical eventually, maybe the one thing we WONT get is a recording of him chatting in the studio. I'd love to hear him working on something and the tape kept rolling and he ends up talking to one of the engineers for a while, or to the band. We know so little of his process firsthand, and I find his technical decisions so interesting. That minute of him talking at the start of Power Fantastic on SOTT/SDE is just beautfiul. I want another one of those, but like 15 minutes long.

I really hope we one day get the stuff from the early Graffiti Bridge configuration and the tracks included on the various Rave 89 configurations.

I know alot of people think he fell off during this period but I think he was producing some top rate unique pop music. His vocal layering was fantastic.

I would love to hear unreleased gospel songs - somewhere in the vault, there must be a lost gospel album (yeah, I know, Prince considered Lovesexy as his gospel album, but still...)

I would love to hear anything from the proto-rainbow children to tweaks of the released album to rainbow children 2.

It's pretty amazing to me that even stuff this late somehow seems to have got out and is floating around out there. eek

I'd really like to hear it as an instrumental, just as it stands now. No weird voices, no singing, no Jehovah's Witness dogma, not backing vocals. Just the instrumentals. I think the estate, knowing folks have mentioned this, is certainly missing out on something here. They won't do it because it's not how Prince released it or whatever. But it'd still be good to hear.

Cuz God knows I've tried and tried and tried, then - wait for it - I tried some more, to get into that record, and it makes my skin crawl, gets my dander up, and puts a bee in my bonnet. Dare I say, it makes me pissy. lol lol

Not turning this into a religion talk, just a side note about someone I know:

I have a gal pal, a fellow quilter about my age, who is a JW. Every once in a while she'll say something about how the King James was translated, and that's not the real word or whatever. Very stauros-centric type stuff. We got on the subject of Prince. She said, "There are a handful that have bought into Prince’s claim. Same with Michael Jackson. Actions speak louder than words but again we have no right to judge."

I later showed her the pic of Prince's copy of the new world translation (wasn't that in 21 Nights or something?) She said, "The Bible is interesting. Our organization never published a Bible with that font, but people used to get them rebound with real leather covers with their name embossed etc. on their own. Only the best for Prince, right?" I said, "Well, he was named Prince, so yes."

We tread lightly around each other with the JW stuff. I told her I no longer have any interest in organized religion of any sort, and that my beliefs are outside of the church's dogma. That ended that conversation. haha (on a pleasant note, actually.)

Every day when I awake, the greatest of joys is mine: that of being ME.

I was shocked to read this a few years ago. After first seeing the video in 95 on The Ultimate Live Experience Tour, and then getting it on a VHS boot, I'll always associate it with that era.

.

I know P.Vault isn't always 100% correct but they 'assume' the version on New World features Michael and Sonny, so it could be the 1992 short version from the I'll Do Anything sessions or maybe they did re-record it around the time. As they also say it could have been considered for Chaos And Disorder
