This thread has taught me that some fans think emancipation should have been four discs lol

We don't need to play that game again. Everyone likes a different single disc config, and that's why releasing the three disc set was exactly the right thing to do. I've seen single discs suggested where I don't like most of the tracks. Some people even like DaDaDa ffs! The orger formerly known as https://prince.org/profil...nglishGent

I used to think that "Love Never Has 2 Say Goodbye" was from around this time as well and usually included it in my makeshift 1 disc try outs.

He'd pop the tapes in the car and go cruising. He'd also put certain songs on playlists as placeholders where he wanted a certain vibe and some tracks hit close to that. I don't believe he was actually intending on that tracklist being the follow up to Gold Experience. He was juggling like 5 projects at this time and this is clear when you see how many different configurations a song like The Same December ended up on (same with Funky Design). And of all the songs on the Emancipation cutting room floor that I've heard, he definitely picked the cream of the crop to release. I don't think there's a single outtake from 1994-1998 that I'd have rather heard on a relevant album except maybe Beautiful Strange (which found a release shortly after anyway). I would have included Slave 2 The System, Journey 2 The Center Of U're Heart, Goodbye and Stone on Emancipation over the covers. I like both Journey 2 The Center Of Your Heart and Goodbye but it was ballad heavy, some had to miss out.

How come this tracklist was added on the vault and not the one on the Steve parke artwork? Is there any back ground to this track list?

[Edited 8/11/22 2:31am] So did the other configuration have any other unknown tracks on it. Something BIG Is Coming.
