what will the new book be

my guess: a book chronicling his various shoes that idiot middle aged women who think p is their spirit animal will go crazy for as the 1986 re-record of katrina's paper dolls is left to languish in whatever hole in the wall they plan on stuffing the tapes back in at paisley.

We do not need another book. We don't need jewellery. We don't need different variations of albums reissues on colourful swirly vinyl.

We need music we haven't heard before and we need it quick.

TITLE OF THE NEW BOOK PURPLE CASH GRAB!! Because everybody is worried about we have to support the estate. People you are the consumer. You keep buying everything pretty soon they will be putting a sticker on everything that you don’t need or want. Hate to say it , he has passed so who are you really supporting? 🤔 The family that he didn’t leave will to. His full sister already cashed out.

i think it's funny that the same people who virulently hate the estate, and everything really, will be like "no one deserves to make money off this other than p's estate" as justification for being assholes like lma0 u silly dog

What book?

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

At the time of his death, he was writing out song lyrics. We've all seen the "Little Red Corvette" lyrics -- and another set was found in his travel bag when it was inventoried after death.

So, I suspect that (as mentioned in The Beautiful Ones book), he was planning a book about the inspiration behind each song. That would be nice IF he actually got far enough to make a book of them.

Remember, we first hear "about 50 pages" had been written and then the released book consisted of 28.

Welcome to "the org", laytonian… come bathe with me.

You mean the overpriced satin purple bedsheets aren't essential for your collection as a Prince fan? lol

He was writing his memoir, couldn't they have just been for that?

Of course. But it would have been a bit off-topic for the book that was released, featuring a chronicle of his early life.

The lyrics would have been a jump of several years with nothing in between.

in the book, originally, prince was intending to chronicle his life up to the 2007 super bowl.

he just never got past the first stages of writing down things.

so lyrics to his songs might have fit in there very well. I doubt he was going to write out all
of his lyrics, let alone honestly talk about the inspiration behind them.

see Crystal Ball for booklet for reference, and other instances of him being asked about such.

but handwritten lyrics to well known songs would have been great inclusions in a book about
his life and music up to 2007.
