Controversy's guaranteed bangers: Controversy Sexuality Do Me Baby Private Joy Let's Work Annie Christian Dirty Mind's guaranteed bangers: Dirty Mind When U Were Mine Uptown Head How is this even a comparison? Please can someone help me understand how Do It All Night, Sister, and Partyup could ever exist on an album considered better than Controversy? "Party Up" is my favorite song on either album...the bass guitar, and rhythm guitar licks are so clear and crispy and fonky....i feel like Controversy and Dirty Mind are equally great albums...Controversy may be a little bit more polished, but i dig the demo quality, almost garage band sound of Dirty Mind too

If we’re comparing the two albums,I think ‘Dirty Mind’ is the superior album. So groundbreaking and extremely bold! It’s a really important album in Prince’s catalog.I consider it to be Prince’s first masterpiece. but ‘Controversy’ is great too

I still hold out hope that both of these albums will eventually get SDEs

The live performance of "Partyup" on Saturday Night Live in February 1981, was probably Prince's greatest early career TV performance...P, Andre, Dez & Fink had amazing chemistry, intensity, and showmanship on that show... theyre STILL my favorite Prince band ever.

Dm is the better more perfect album Controversy is not quite as amazing but it has lots of top material Its just let down by poor sequencing which puts all the best songs right at the front

Thanks. downloaded it, it's so bad it's good. Love it! Close to Prince's version. "The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves. And wiser people so full of doubts" (Bertrand Russell 1872-1972)

There's just one thing that bothers me about this album, it is (way) too short. That's how goddamen good it is! Period! It became even more brilliant over the years to me, if you compare it with anything later NPG-ish. It sounds more timeless than Diamonds&Pearls, The Symlbol or anything after that (at least to me). Say What? Think about that opening dance beat, tighter then a 17 yo pussy, a dark prayer poored over the sparse funk with a gothic smell, and a guitarlick to die for, how controversial is that! Wet nickers that is! Do Me Baby is fan-fuckin'-tas-tic! I (once) remixed 'Ronnie ...' to have a longer version. Did the same with 'Jack U Off', and added 'Irresistible Bitch' to it together with 'Horny Toad' in a slowed down dirty version. Just to have a longer album. I kill everyone who think it doesn't! )))) Come on up you purple fools. I dare you! )))))

I also like the YACHT version of ''Annie Christian.'' "The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves. And wiser people so full of doubts" (Bertrand Russell 1872-1972)
