The best "music performance" scene in Purple rain is OBVIOUSLY
when The Time does "The Bird" & they do those dance steps at the end of the song, culminating with that (still nasty!) "Chilli Sauce" SLIDE.. too bad "somebody" decided that The Time's (only 2) stage performances were not worthy of being shown in their entirety.. The best "acting scene" in the movie is in the dressing room, after "The Kid" sings Darling Nikki & makes Apollonia cry, & Billy has a word or 2 to say: "I told you before- the stage is NO PLACE for your personal shit!" "That's life, man.." "LIFE MY ASS, MOTHERFUCKER! DIS IS A BIDNESS, & you ain't too fargone to see that.." HOO! Classic! I shudder to think what that scene would look like today, if P could put his little paw prints on it.. 2ND best scene: the gullible- yet VERY "PHYSICALLY GIFTED" Apollonia revealing her self before her "baptism" in Lake Minnetonka.. VERY IMPRESSIVE. I'll see you tonight..

Its the raw, ugly truth and it is delivered by a great thespian in a kick ass classic film. If Clarence had a bigger part with more character depth, he would have made it an Oscar nominated role. | |

I defy anyone to cite a better shot of a set of juggs in any legit film (non x rated) than Appolonia in the lake scene. Simply the best pair of golden bozos on celluloid and still her claim to fame to this day.
