The Blu-ray format allows for lossless audio. The restoration work they did on the video would look the same on DVD since there's no way to turn SD source into HD.

Does the CD/DVD version come with a downlad code? I got my package but haven't hopened it yet. Debating on just buying the video on iTunes or going for the Collector's edition.

Didn’t find a download code with my CD/Blu-ray pack. Very much doubt that would have been considered as usually people just rip the CD and put on their computers, music players or whatnots. Saying that, fewer and fewer of us now even have a PC or laptop with a CD player attached, so may be it should be a thing.

So you've got the SOTT deluxe and this release, but opened neither? What are you waiting on?

Well, crap.

My download code doesn't work for some reason.

I keyed it in 3 times, making sure it was correct: It doesn't contain any letter/number look-alikes (i.e. O and 0), everything is capital, it looks exact.

This sucks.

All I get is "We're sorry but we could not validate your code. Please check and try again."

EDIT- I've e-mailed support. We'll see what they say.

I watched this concert on iTunes last night; the source for the footage is dreadful so I wasn't expecting much from the 4K remaster. The audio is better than the pq but overall It feels like an official bootleg release. This release won't live long in the memory.

Side note, the no Nukes gig from the 1970's which Springsteen released in the last 12 months faired far better because it had a better source, it's set a high bar with my expectations. Sadly.

If I were the estate reading this, I'd be fairly dejected. The sound is a quantam leap better than anything before it. I would say the sound on this cd is better than the Utrecht show from the Sign SDE from 2020. It has more bottom end. The Utrecht show, although awesome and clean, has little bass.

The ATMOS mix on the Blue Ray is just superb. I can't believe people think it's a minor and not MASSIVE improvement.

As for the picture, you have to conssder the source. Considering the source, the pic is so much better then we have ever seen before.. it's sort of ridiculous to compare it to something recorded in 1080P...or 4K. Anyone expecting taht will be repeatedly disappointed as the man recorded mainly video of his shows and rehearsals.

See above re: this release (i.e. I wanna know if it comes with digital download code too). I finally opened SOTT to watch the disc. I had listened to all the extra songs on Pandora so I was thinking of selling this package on ebay but since it never went out of print I finally opened it.

I have not opened: 1999 SD, SOTT SD, Welcome 2 America, the Up All Night set.... and a few other items. I have all the files (well not the SOTT video that was not a good show... I would think the "For thoes of U on Valium" would have been better (with the Miles stuff as an extra) (But we know Prince sold the rights to the SOTT concert film and most if not all of the footage from Rotterdam.)


But YES I have the sound files.

remember the good old days of waiting on the sott sde and seeing the tracklist and the buildup?

Try it now. I also got in touch with support and they said they were still waiting on the audio to be delivered to them but I got a response yesterday that it was now available.

I did end up trying it again, and got the download finally!

However, it sounded awful; like the *original* DVD audio rip. I ended up ripping the CDs anyway, and it sounded much better.
